The Executive Council of African Union (AU) has ordered investigations into Daniel Batidam’s resignation and allegations of corruption within its anti-graft body.
Chairperson of the AU Advisory Board on Corruption, Begoto Miarom says the investigation into Mr. Batidam’s allegations began in September.
“The first decision taken to investigate the corruption allegations was to do a performance audit which began last September and the AU is waiting for the report on that investigation,” he told Manasseh Azure Awuni, on the sidelines of the 18th International Anti-Corruption Conference currently underway in Copenhagen, Demark.
Begoto Miarom added that “all organs under the African Union will be subjected to an audit.”
Daniel Batidam, a former advisor to President John Mahama on corruption, resigned from the AU Advisory Board on Corruption in June 2018, accusing the body of abuse of trusted power, corruption, lack of probity, accountability, transparency, and integrity.
Speaking on PM Express on June 21, Mr. Batidam revealed he took the decision to prompt the AU Commission to take urgent action to deal with the malfeasance at the continental body.
Mr. Miarom has stated that a second decision has been taken by the executive council to use an independent audit for the administrative, financial and human resource departments.

Amazing, you could not expose corruption in Ghana under Mahama or even Akuffo Addo, but doing so in Africa Union. Not bad though, but we expected some efforts from in your friends government. I like the independent thinkers and people like you to save Africa.
The guy is hot now. He has to justify the claims he made. Is his integrity at stake? He was opening his mouth widely as if he was doing Ghana politics where you can say anything and go free. NOW IS THE HOUR YOU GO TALK TRUE.
Mr Ghana, in fact you are indeed a ***barred word*** man, because this is about the whole Africa not about Ghana, so please just try to think twice before you talk. Why? or because you never travel outside Ghana before that is why you do not know what is happening in the world? What Batima is saying is not about your dirty politics, ok
No matter what Baatidam did or does at the AU the axe of justice will fall on him here in Ghana. When the probes begin and Mahama gets hot he cannot hide anywhere.
And he couldnt do same under Mahama to let Ghanaians know the sort of corruption that was going under him or perhaps he himself
