The Majority Leader and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Hon Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu has defended the introduction of the Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) by government to help reduce graduate unemployment in the country, even if temporarily.
According to the Majority Leader it takes an average of about ten years for some graduates to secure permanent job in the country hence the importance of the NABCO.
The Majority Leader made the comments at the post budget workshop organized for Members of Parliament in Koforidua in the Eastern region.
He advised Members of Parliament to come out with insightful and objective opinions on the 2019 budget statement and economic policy of the government when debate on the budget commences in Parliament on Tuesday 20th November 2018.
The Majority Leader said the exercise of power of the purse function given to the legislature must be executed with the highest level of commitment and knowledge and urged the MPs to take full advantage of the workshop to broaden their understanding of the budget.

Is it NACOB or NABCO?
Congratulations. But for the introduction of NACOB, a 32 year old graduate who graduated in 2015 continues to collect money from his parents who are now pensioners to survive. The unemployment situation is also affecting the Social Security scheme as people are not enrolling onto the scheme and it is likely to affect the scheme very soon. The government can move further in its strides to make things work for the young graduates on Whom government resources have been used to educate them.BRAVO
