Mr James Gunu, Volta Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), said the Party needs to work hard to ensure its members remain united.
He said the NDC must develop mechanisms to check internal wrangling and cement its position as the "only hope for Ghana".
Mr Gunu said this when the Ave Dakpa Market queen, and some Party members from the Akatsi North District paid a courtesy call on him on Thursday.
"Unity must be a part and parcel of our everyday life. It is necessary for upholding the integrity of the Party," he said.
Mr Gunu said transparency and accountability held the key to effective decentralisation and called on executives of the Party to involve the grassroots in decision making.
Madam Olivia Ziddah, a member of the Party in Akatsi North, said they needed Party cards for new members in the District and appealed to the Regional Sectary to help regularise them.

Ex-Presidents cannot become flagbearers again because our constitution doesn't allow it. But we have one g r e e dy person who wants to become President for life. You've been vice-president, president for 6-months, and president for 4-years but performed abysmally. Yet, you're not satisfied......you want to come again at all cost. What did you leave behind at the Jubilee House that you want to go and retrieve? Please leave our party alone and allow fresh blood and fresh ideas. Ghanaians are tire of you.
Forck the NDC! Social cooperate responsibility is not voluntary it is mandatory it is obligatory it is the first thing you do before you touch any resource in the world. Why is it deferent in Africa? It is a responsibility not irresponsibility. A timber company like samatex cannot ship timber on daily basis and leave aboyy as undeveloped and remote like that. That is a krime being perpetuated against the people of aboyy. You ship millions of dollars worth of timber every month and the people over there are extremely poor! This nonsenss will stop. All this is happening in the name of concession. The people of aboyy needs to have first class hospital. They put pregnant women in wheel barrows and send them to nearby towns to deliver. And someone is saying Africa beyond aid, your timber is being shipped freeee siiaaaa!
Whatever NPP does to the inward looking Voter-Region, they will still be inward looking. Treat them as any other region and let them remain in their BACKWARDNESS! They always want to be NDC's Voter-Region. Let them be. Look at their participation in the Planting for Food and Job, because NPP brought it. SAD!
