PRESIDENT RAWLINGS’ MESSAGE OF CONGRATULATIONS TO THE YAA NAA AND PEOPLE OF DAGBON
On the occasion of the outdooring of Yaa Naa Abubakari Mahama as the new King of Dagbon I wish to congratulate the King and people of Dagbon for this historic achievement.
The people of Dagbon have gone through a difficult and painful period since 2002 and it is a sign of great maturity, tact and patience that the process of the burial ceremonies of the Yaa Naa and the investiture of the new Overlord have progressed in relative peace.
I also commend the committee of eminent chiefs namely the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Yagbonwura, Tuntumba Boresa Sulemana Jakpa I and Nayiri, Naa Bohogu Abdulai Mahami Sheriga for their painstaking efforts in bringing about this welcome development.
Peace will be perpetuated in Dagbon if the traditional leaders and people of Dagbon commit to the fact that they are brothers and agree to live in an atmosphere of justice, peace and harmony.
Too many years have been wasted in a state of suspended conflict due to the lack of justice. It is now time to dedicate yourselves to peace and development, mindful of the complexity of your history.
Let me also commend President Akufo Addo for his dedication to the work of the eminent chiefs and all who in diverse ways worked towards today’s climactic event.
I pray the government and the security agencies will continue to work in tandem with the new Overlord and the people of Dagbon to ensure and maintain lasting peace and security.
I wish Yaa Naa Abukari Mahama many years of wise and strong leadership and pray that peace and justice will prevail in Dagbon.

We are TIRED of you and yor NDC always INFLAMING passion in Dagbon. Even you and your EVIL party which started with the PNDC and had over 250 Ghananians disappearing. Your party was in government for 8 yrs, why didn't you bring your so-called justice to them. GIVE US A BREAK!
I don't know what this man JJ wants more over the peace that is happening among the people of Dabgon. What is he talking about? Justice? Justice for whom? Does he still want militants to rise up and avenge the death of the Ya-Na? is that the only he wants to see justice done? Justice is not about vengeance. It is about peace and forgiveness, as Jesus taught in the Holy Bible about the Golden Rule, "Do to others whatever you would have them do to you."(Matthew 7:12). "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you."(Mathew 5:44).JJ, read the Bible and be converted.it is time you stay sober and repent from the injustices you did to your opponents whilst in power. It is time you stop your violent politicking and attention seeking, and appreciate peace and people who work for peace.
legends has it that JJ still has the tapes
But Oga Rawlings said he had the tapes and still Ancient Dagbon Kingdon have not been seen these tapes for the last 17 wasted years when Dagbon could have become like a modern metropolis that could hold it's own in terms of modern infrastructure and amenities comparable to any in Asia. So what happened? Well we all learn as we grow and understand and appreciate the little mercies of God/Allah.
This guy is fuuling the whole country. If the problem protracted, he cannot absolve himself.
Yes, Almighty Allah does everything beautifully and perfectly in His appointed time. No accusations the people of Dagbon and Ghana are winners.
Jerry, you were part of the reason it took so many years to resolve the Dagbon conflict. You claimed you knew the killers when Kuffuor was in power then you disappeared with any evidence when Atta became president. You are a diappointment
Jerry Rawlings, Where is the tape on the Yaa Naa's murder that you said you had? Dangerous man
Hello mister former president when it happened you played politics with it by accusing the sitting president Kufuor of behind the killings. Not all of us have shot memory. Always act as a statesman and be circumspect on your statements because you have played your part in Ghana politics and command respect.
