Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, says anyone who will be found on the wrong side of the law as far as the process of selecting regional capitals for the new regions is concerned, will be 'dealt with'.
His comment comes in the wake of violence that broke out in Salaga after Damongo was named as the regional capital of the new Savannah Region.
The youth in Salaga burnt down the Salaga constituency office of the New Patriotic Party in a way of demonstrating their displeasure in the selection of Damongo as the capital.
Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, speaking in an interview on Class FM, said: “lawlessness is lawlessness and it cannot be countenanced and, so, the police and the security agencies will arrest any person who attempts to engage in any lawless activities as we go through this process and ensure that that person is prosecuted and dealt with in accordance with law.”
