In the heat of the by-election at Ayawaso West Wuogon on 31st January, 2019, the National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo said that Mr. Delali Kwasi Brempong, was being held hostage in his own house by armed men.
He cited that particular reason as one of the reasons why the NDC was withdrawing from the race. However, addressing the Short Commission yesterday, the man at the centre of the drama, Mr. Delali Kwasi Brimpong, said that he was not in his house when the alleged incident took place. In effect, either Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo is right, and Delali Brempong was in his that both men cannot be right. Both version of the story cannot be true. One of them is lying at a monumental level, and it is not funny.
Indeed the events of 31st January has so worried the nation, that the president found it necessary to establish a whole Commission of Inquiry to go into the matter.
Yesterday, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate in the January 31 by-election at Ayawaso West Wuogon, disputed claims that his house was used as a harbor to hoard firearms and thugs.
He also said that he had left his house in the morning and so was not present throughout the alleged incident of violence.
Strikingly, it was the very fact that Delali Brempong was being held hostage in his house by armed men, that served as a reason for the NDC led by Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo to withdraw from the Ayawaso race.
Mr. Ofosu Ampofo said the party’s candidate, Delali Brempong, was being “held hostage” in the house. “In the circumstances, I have conferred with the parliamentary candidate and the leadership of the NDC. We have no option than to withdraw from the ongoing exercise,” the National Chairman of the NDC, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, said to the press. So who is lying? Delali Brempong, or Samuel Ofosu Ampofo?

Born and bred with malicious lies, eeeh discerning Ghanaians reject the horrible hallucinating national demons congress ndc...
I'm really surprised.ndc is a confused party and it's members are bloody liars.
Yes, NDC had an agenda but the national security did not act professionally at all. Instead of them calming down, and really know was really happening on the ground for all to see.
What is wrong with some journalist in Ghana at all. " I was not in my house b4 the incident took place" Does it mean that the man did not return home after the incident? How many hours did it takes the crinals to operate in his house? Can him be held hostage after he returned to his house? Ghanaians refused to tell the truth jux bcoz of political goals. Diverting attention from the actual issue ( criminals shooting and harrassing innocent Ghanains) Rwanda oooooooo Rwanda, let's watch ourselves oooo
NDC had an agenda that failed woefully. It was one of their many schemes and machinations to frustrate the government in power. The members of the Hawks are very angry and they will definitely vent their anger on you. they claim after the failed attempt to distabilize the elections, you failed to pay them as promised, you also did not give them their T&T back to Kumasi. They claim they are going to meet you Boot for Boot.
i remember Ofosu Ampofo positing that when they went the house, Delali was in shock and has locked himself up in his bedroom. they had to knock severally before he opened the door. Infact THE CHURCH OF PENTECOST will have to call this man to order. Aaaaaah why these lies?
Heeeee Ofosu Ampofo the Pentecost church elder God is watching you.
all these are not worse than Akuffo Addo terrorist group that attack innocent people
And because of their behaviour God has paid them appropriately. They made a snide comments about the formation of the commission of the enquiry and sniffed at it. Shame!!!
"Do you want to kill a man in his own house"? Something doesn't add up here. Sam George by this statement tells us in a way that Mr. Delali was in his house when the incident took place. So perhaps, Ampofo may be telling the truth. However, one doesnt need to be too intelligent to smell this koobi. NDC wants to create the impression that there were no vigilantes in Mr Delali's housed. What it also mean is that the so called intelligence picked by the national security is false and therefore the so called men that came to the house are not from national security. Kwame Sefa Kayi established that Mr Delali own the house but he doesn't live there anymore, he now lives at trassaco. Now, assuming Mr. Delali is telling the truth, then; 1. who were the men that got injured in his house? 2. what were they doing there if they had nothing or no one to guard? 3. What was Sam George doing in a house where Mr Delali doesn't live and wasn't even there during the incident as he claimed? They started lying from the beginning to the extent that they claimed some casualties have been recorded which also turned out to be false. Now Sam George also wants to meet the committee, have they made a U turn on the decision about the committee? Mr. Ofosu Ampofo said the party’s candidate, Delali Brempong, was being “held hostage” in the house. Hon Sam George chanted, "Do you want to kill a man in his own house?" Mr. Delali Brempong reported to the committee tha he had left his house in the morning and so was not present throughout the alleged incident of violence. Hehehehehe......
