The National Democratic Congress has served notice that it will respond appropriately to the Economic Management Team (EMTs) Town Hall Meeting held on Wednesday, which the former described as the "usual populace rhetoric rather than a fact-based presentation" on the economy.
According to the opposition party, the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's lecture was "full of misleading facts and patent mis-statement laced with populist rhetoric".
A statement signed by the NDC's General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, assured Ghanaians that "the NDC Finance and Economic Team will take advantage of the public lecture organized by the Coalition For Restoration to address the numerous distortions and lay bare the true facts of the state of the Ghanaian economy".
That event is scheduled to take place at Mensvic Hotel, East Legon, on Thursday, April 4th at 1:00pm
The EMT, under the direct leadership of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, this morning challenged political opponents of the government to provide data to prove the economy is on a nosedive.
Speaking at a maiden Town Hall Meeting, the Vice-President sought to assure the public that the economy is on a sound footing with credible data available to support that claim.
“These are based on credible data and let anyone who disagrees bring his data,” Bawumia served notice in his presentation dubbed: “Our progress, Our status, Our future.”
According to him, statistics available indicate the economy is performing better than previous governments. But the NDC says that is more of a lie than a truism.
Below Is A Copy Of The NDCs Statement.
The National Democratic Congress has taken note of the town hall meeting addressed today by the Chairman of the Economic Management Team, H. E. Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia.
In a manner reminiscent of his utterances during the 2016 general election campaign, Dr. Bawumia’s lecture was full of misleading facts and patent misstatements laced with the usual populist rhetoric rather than a fact-based presentation on the economy.
The NDC Finance & Economy Team will take advantage of the public lecture organized by the Coalition for Restoration (CFR)) to address the numerous distortions and lay bare the true facts of the state of the Ghanaian Economy.
The event is scheduled to take place at Mensvic Hotel, East Legon, tomorrow April 4th at 1:00 pm and it is open to all Ghanaians from all walks of life.

GIVE US A BREAK,
NDC economic management team?led by who?don't tell me otukorno and fifii kewetey back by ato foson.we waite to hear from you guys tomorrow
Am happy that the politicians are now appreciating issue based politics. Nana Addo and Bawumia started with this issue based lecture from our politicians. We want to hear the part of the opposition too. Ghana is growing and very soon we will get there.
The NDC have nothing to say apart from their usual lies, deceit and propaganda. The NPP as a matter of fact done really well rolling out their programmes one after another, I must confess that I'm pleased though times are hard, it could have been worse thank God NDC is not in power. Now we are out of the hands of IMF,Free SHS, restoration of teacher training and nursing training allowance, 1 district 1factory has taken off, import duties have been halved etc. All in 2 yrs
I pray we continue with our politics on issues like this, where govt throws challenge to the opposition on economics discussion other than boot for boot or all die be die
Eiiiiiiiii, Asiedu Nketia, hahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaa, I laugh enter gutter
If you have economic why the nation deteriorated to the exgtent that IMF has to come in?
coalition for what ?
Apuu!! What do you people know about economic management. You destroyed Ghana's economy and the IMF had to come in to manage it for you. Noise makers with no sense.
