“I am inclined to believe the police officer (CID)” says the Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Kweku Baako Jnr.
He was reacting to fallout of a meeting between the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to discuss for the first time, how to end the canker of vigilantism.
After the meeting, the NDC chastised the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for disrupting the meeting.
According to them, the CID called the National Chairman of the party, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo on phone to invite him to the police headquarters since new charges have been leveled against him.
However, the CID in an interview with Kwami Sefa-Kayi denied calling Mr. Ofosu Ampofo.
“It is never true we called Ofosu-Ampofo to come . . . we informed his lawyers that we needed him on Monday. So we were expecting them on Monday. I never called any of them; I never talked to anybody. So it’s never true that he was invited in the middle of the meeting. Moreover, I didn’t know about the meeting until his lawyers told me . . . so I accepted for them to come afterwards,” Chief Supt. Appenteng Baffour, Deputy Director of Operations, CID indicated.
Speaking to this during a panel discussion on Wednesday’s edition of ‘Kokrokoo, Kweku Baako asked those in doubt to go for the telephone log.
“He said he made no call to Ofosu-Ampofo while the meeting was ongoing . . . that sounds more credible to me. But if it becomes controversial the telephone logs are there . . . so I think it is a storm in a tea cup; we shouldn’t allow this to distort or undermine the process,” he urged.

What is wrong with that if CID made a called to Mr. Ofosu Ampofo while he was at a meeting? We should stop hiding behind politic and do all sort of evil things\ if this behavior has happened in UK or US I don't thing Ofosu Ampofo will be a free man
As for Kweku Baako there, only time will tell about his gesture, so let us leave everything at times he might have said wrong about NDC because revenges is for the LORD.
Lion who are the looters of the state? in any case if even they are looters where does Ghana's natural resources come from, secondly who pays the most taxes in Ghana? tell me! even you who contribute less than 1% of our GDP think it's your birthright to rule Ghana and create loot and share how much more those the resources and taxes come from! nons*ense ,you think everyone will tolerate your nons*ense in the country?where you want to create problem where there is none so you expect Kweku Baako to lie like the ndc and be petty on trivial things like you ? if you have such mentality accumulated in your brains which part of your brains can reason good and bring good vision no wonder even in opposition you can't say what you can do in power just making noise for power like noise making with no sense can give power!
A country that is producing gold and oil is rather chasing his poor people for more taxes and you don't see anything wrong with it! What kind of journalists do we have in this country?
