Former Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Nana Oye Lithur lost in the just ended primaries of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to Mohammed Adamu Ramadan, Senior brother of Second Lady, Samira Bawumia.
Nana Oye lost to Adamu Ramadan in the Adentan constituency of the Greater Accra Region.
Speaking to Adakabre Frimpong Manso in an interview on Neat FM, Mr Ramadan who didn't expect Nana Oye Lithur to be his close contender attributed his victory to 'love and loyalty'.
According to him, "when we lost in 2016, I didn’t abandon the constituents; the people looked at that and they went to vote . . . I, however, thank Oye Lithur for a healthy competition."
He has meanwhile, assured constituents that he is going to be a unifier and not only focus on 'Fulanis'.
"I believe in harmonization and unity," he indicated.

MP Choncho I salute you
Why every day we shout FREE SHS, FREE SHS, FREE SHS, those ruling us are they FREE SHS people? Children finished schools without getting admission in universities, some due to money to pay their admission fees, and we are too ***barred word*** indeed always singing FREE SHS, FREE SHS why? Don't worry, our children will soon finish FREE SHS and get equally admission to universities for us without sweat.
The only sensible politicians in Ghana are the northerners. If they are siblings they split their loyalty to the two main political parties, so one will be in government and the other in opposition. Well done to our northern brothers. These guys aren't st..pid!
Great submission from a promising legislator. Keep up the good work and victory will be yours and the people of Adenta will be the beneficiary of your selfless dedication, hard work and love for the society. I wish you well brother
Ghanaians, do you see the TREND? I bet you EVERY FAMILY should "KILL" themselves and educate their children. Take the FREE SHS seriously and do not allow NDC to come to power to collapse it. Let your children also have a DESCENT job in future. 'It is their sons/daughters or brothers/sisters. They are ALL EDUCATED. One in NPP and the other in NDC. Which ever way, they (family) will be okay!
well done brother
