Former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ejisu-Juaben in the Ashanti Region, Afrifa Yamoah Ponkoh, is in high spirits and optimistic of former President John Dramani Mahama making history in the 2020 general elections.
He strongly believes Mr Mahama will surely be sworn-in for the third time in 2021, adding that Ghanaians everywhere are clamouring for his comeback, as evidenced recently when some nursing training students went on their knees begging for forgiveness for voting against him [Mahama]
“...history is going to be made as it is not Mahama’s own will that he is coming back to power; we are pushing him including Ghanaians who are crying for him to come back to power....The nurses’ allowances you are talking about that Mahama cancelled, they voted against him and another government promised to pay and he is paying but these same nurses are still crying and so what do we say to that?” he inquired.
Speaking proverbially in an interview with Kwame Nkrumah Tikesie on OkayFM's "Ade Akye Abia" Morning Show, Mr. Ponkoh pointed out that the nursing training students, having tasted water and alcohol, now know which of the two substances is heavier.
“There was and is wisdom in what former President Mahama told the nursing and teacher trainees at that time and these young ones did not understand him, thinking that he was being wicked and they voted against him. But these same young ones have realised that even though President Akufo-Addo is giving them the allowances, they are better off without them”, he stressed.
The former MCE also challenged the 54,000 figure quoted by the Ministry of Health that the present administration has employed that number of nurses since President Akufo-Addo took over office; a little over two years ago.
“There is no data showing that the Akufo-Addo government has employed 54,000 nurses; this is pure lies that this government is still peddling. It is not true unless they produce the data of nurses employed in the health sector. We need empirical evidence and not mere quoting of figures but I cannot say the government has not employed nurses into the health sector but then they are under obligation to employ them because he promised them. It is their birthright that after school, they must be employed by the government but where has he employed the 54, 000 nurses? That is pure lies....these people (NPP) are still shamefully engaging in the deceit they perpetrated prior to the 2016 elections," he challenged.

H.E. John Dramani Mahama at the state of the nation address on February 28, 2016 said: "Mr. Speaker, Over the past 5 years there has been a proliferation of microfinance companies. These companies come under the direct supervision of the Bank of Ghana. Unfortunately, lack of effective supervision has resulted in many cases in which microfinance companies licenced by Bank of Ghana have breached the rules and created supposed pyramid schemes that have eventually come crushing down" I have few questions; 1. Who was the governor of the Bank of Ghana in 2016...? 2. Who were his deputies...? 3. Who was the finance minister in 2016...? 4. Who were his deputies...? 5. What measures did the management of BoG, the finance ministry, and the government of the day put in place to save the situation...? Respectfully, I think the likes of H.E. John Dramani Mahama, Hon. Isaac Adongo, Hon. Fiifi Kwetey, Dr. Johnson Asiamah, Hon. Seth Tekper, Hon. Cassiel Ato Forson & co. should give us a break. I doubt if they have anything good to offer Ghana regarding the financial sector clean-up.
THE HORSE "PONKO" IS NOT KNOWN TO BE AN INTELLIGENT ***barred word*** SO WHY WORRY YOURSELF.
Over the dead bodies of Ghanaians, I think ndc feel happy when they come out speaking nkwasea*sem who want a drunkard who sowed am uniforms to seamstresses and kayayees to kneel and say sorry for cash aaaah primitive campaign like that to come to power where which Ghana? I think ndc has now created their own country but fir Ghana/Gold Coast ? it will be easier for a camel to enter the eye of a needle than ndc coming back to power! What is your message? what is your policies and vision? hahahaha ndc policy I will cancel free shs, I will cancel teachers and nurses trainee allowances, I will cancel NABCO, I will cancel planting fir food and jobs, 1V1D was started by me, 1d1f was done by me, Ekumfi Pineapples were planted by the ndc eeeiii so can opposition make people frustrated to the verge of ***barred word*** ?Ekumfi pineapples were planted by the ndc but they couldn't plant sugar cane for the Komenda factory what a logic! nkwas*eafuo paa ni and they are tickling themselves like their footsoldiers they see stand for Ghana! animguase3fuo! everywhere you go something comes that wasn't normal, your demonstration was a rented crowd, Nalerugu nursing training was a rented scene what at all are you looking for? is power a force? the people don't like you and you forcing yourselves how can that work? ndc will rot in opposition! tweeeaa! and you think even 50,000 out of the over 1 million will switch to vote ndc with no policy,no vision nkw*asea akeka nkoaaa and you still think Ghanaians have short memory! if you didn't take a clue from 2016 and Ayawaso then I don't know how you think! Ayawaso ndc couldn't even get 35% and you talk of 2020? with the free shs your nephews and nieces are enjoying and you think they will vote for you to cancel? you've lost your minds as Former president Rawlings said. Ghanaians don't like ndc that's all!
If Mahama had started the Bole Farm after he visited it with Momodou, by now with the AfCFTA market, he would be sending 100's upon 100's of the 40 footer into the market and also out of it. Ofosu-Ampofo is spending the money he could use for that and it's needless.
Create loot and share
If Ghanaians vote for mahama again then I will believe Ghanaians have short memory and democracy is not good for Ghana. If a president and his people can lead you to sleep in darkness for 4 years and leave a tarted economy and you still want him to lead you. Then we really have a big big problem
All these corrupt people who benefited unjustly when NDC was in power are the ones pushing this childish agenda of Mahama coming back. What do you take Ghanaians for? You were given the opportunity and you messed up, then turn around and try to claim that you can do better. In your wildest dreams.
yamoa ponko is a goat that we all know so what is he talking about.***barred word*** man.
John Cribo Mahama is on his way to destruction. Watch out!!!
EI, they say indeed, who the gods want to destroy, they make MAD! NDC? NEVER again
