So who really asked for these large bank notes? I thought we are driving a cashless society. Large notes have been found to be helpful to criminals ( terrorists, money launderers, human traffickers- The Economist, May 7, 2016) who can easily hide stolen money. Just another example to make nonsense of our hard working Veep's electronic initiatives. The BoG should focus its energy on preventing the oddious tax consideration on mobile money, which by far is the single most important developing world revolution in driving a cashless society, instead of being happy to have left a legacy of large bank notes, even if the beautiful signature of its leader on these notes is the sole reason for introducing them.

Very stupiiiiiiiiiiid, does NPP own Ghana? Idiooooooooot
It is very disappointing to note that, Mr. Franklin Cudjo cannot speak to an issue without being disparage and sarcastic. This attitude rather depicts intellectual arrogance and weakness. To reduce the whole exercise to the Governor of the BOG solely priding to have his signature on the new notes is not fair and rather unfortunate as that coming from the whole President of the IMANI Ghana. The BOG has given its reasons for producing those notes. If you disagree argue it out intellectually without being naughty.
***barred word*** FRANKLIN. PEOPLE LIKE YOU ALLOWED RAWLINGS TO TAKE GHANAIANS FOR A RIDE SO PLEASE GET THE HELL OUT OF NPP BUSINESS AND GHANAIANS DON'T NEED ***barred word*** PEOPLE LIKE YOU AGAIN IN OUR LIVES.
It is just another way to 'still' money. This is the craziest government Ghana will ever have! 200 and 100 notes for what? And the reason they gave is "to make it easier for those engaging in large cash transactions on a daily basis.....". What are you taking about? And this is coming from a government that just collapsed businesses in the name of cleaning up the financial sector! Who will even have money for the so-called "large scale financial transactions on a daily basis..."? Is it not bad guys and their cronies in government? It is just clear what their intention is. No public education, nothing and just a year to election you come up with this rubbish! God will dislodge this government as He dislodged Saul. They can try all the tricks to 'still'. You can't 'still' God's will. Brigands!
Who said twaaaaaaa Akuffu Addo has totally failed
We are always using the taxpayer's money for things we don't really need. We are tired of the government using our money for needless ventures. There are pressing needs out there. No jobs for people to do after schooling and the GOG is comfortably going to use the taxpayer's money for printing large notes? Hmmmn!
Nppfo na gimi, said ken agyepong. They will support anything fuuuulish decision nana addo and barwumia take.
@Wiseup, how i wished we will learn from our colonial masters?
Is this a sign of uncontrolable inflation and mismanagement? More money in the hands of cash users? Why these big notes? Who is going to use them the poor or the rich? The financial are getting weaker? More spending? Why the ceding getting weaker and weaker? Is there too much money coming into Ghana that larger notes to carry them? Are reversing the what President Kufor did to strengthen the cedi? Do not erode the value! Talk to me somebody. Learning?
Elsewhere with better economy, they have 200 currency notes. EU does. This country rises or falls on the back of its citizens. In this country historians are at the same time financial analysts and currency experts; medical doctors are lawyers at the same tim; and the most common of all, every citizen is a football coash. Our problem is that everyone is an expert on everything so in the end we have not experts at all. Isn't it anethema to have political foot soldiers condemn the GOVERNOr of the Bank of Ghana for introducing a new currency? Topics too sublime for even analogous experts are ruthlessly discussed and digested by the ordinary citizen. Can we have only the expers speak of technical matters specific to their areas of expertise? We can't all know it all. If we don't take care, we'll destroy this beautiful country with our negativity!
