Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia North Constituency, Collins Owusu Amankwah says the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is making unnecessary politics out of the parked ambulances.
To him, the Minority's stance on the parked ambulances at the forecourt of Parliament by inciting the public against the Akufo-Addo led NPP government is making partisan politics unattractive, describing the action of the NDC as a deliberate attempt to frustrate the government.
“The populism of the NDC is becoming too many these days. They make partisan politics unattractive with unnecessary noise. The President promised every constituency an ambulance. He didn’t say that he will bring the first phase and later add up the rest,” he said.
Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' with regards to the response President Akufo-Addo gave on the parked ambulances, Hon. Owusu Amankwa believes it was the best response as the same NDC will turn around to accuse the President of favoring one constituency over the other should he [the President] orders for the distribution of the 96 ambulances.
He was of the view that the response by President Akufo-Addo regarding the parked ambulances was in the right direction as it was based on the fact that the constitution mandates him to undertake balanced development in all the regions.
He, however, urged Ghanaians especially the opposition NDC to wait for the rest of the ambulances to arrive in order for the distribution to be done evenly after the paramedics had been adequately trained to start operations.
The behavior of the NDC, according to the Chairman of Government Assurance Committee of Parliament, is meant to frustrate the Akufo-Addo government.
“Imagine that the President had distributed the 96 ambulances and some constituencies of the NDC and even NPP had not received any; do you know what the NDC would have said now? In this world, whatever you do, people will talk about it . . . in every move, some people have made up their minds to frustrate you in opposition and so they will find everything wrong with whatever you do,” he averred.
He further mentioned that, “it is not that the health facilities don’t have ambulances, because in 2017, I bought an ambulance for my people and the one President Akufo-Addo will give will add up to support my constituency”.
Debunking the point that the absence of the ambulances is causing deaths in the country, Collins Owusu Amankwah said that, “death has been part of us from Adam and it is not because of the parked ambulances. Did the NDC not know that our constituencies need ambulances? NDC is missing the argument”.

By the way distributing Ambulance or not does it concern NDC and the hoax? The incorruptible savior Akufo-Addo it the President of the Republic so allow him to rule and stop all your noise. These are some of the reasons why I decree like the Jews said NEVER AGAIN TO NDC. NDC YAAMUTU, NDC YAAMUTU, NDC YAAMUTU, NDC YAAMUTU, NDC YAAMUTU
Arrest and jail all the NDC double salary cr!m!nals and the rest will give us peace. The th!eves are the ones making the most noise.
Ambulance service comes with a command centre and personnel to run it. All the components need to be ready or there will be chaos. How will you call for an Ambulance when there is no command centre to receive your calls and dispatch the ambulance to your location? lets be civilised in our debates in Ghana? Ambulances are not like Metro mass buses?
The NDC is behaving like they are in power they should get it into their heads it is the NPP that is ruling. I remember when this issue of procuring Ambulances from the 1 MILLION FOR EACH CONSTITUENCY CAME UP IN PARLIAMENT, I watched some of the Minority MPs saying they do not need ambulances, now they want to cause disaffection for the President because of this. The NPP should go and look for the tape and play it for them making fun of the idea. NDC is really making politics unattractive indeed.
@ Big Guy.Great analogy.Thumbs Up! I urge my party to go ahead and distribute the Ambulances ASAP.We do not have a better argument.Lets listen to what NDC is saying. We can still fetch them out from the districts during campaign period and make a heck of political capital out of them.
Why won't the government wait to start the 1D1F at all district simultaneously. Why are they putting up factories in some districts whiles others have not yet got. This argument from you and the President does not make sense at all. Tell us the truth that the government is planning to use as part of their campaign message which Ghanaians have grown beyond.
You are making Politics Unattractive With Unnecessary Noise -
