General Secretary of the largest opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia has said that all reasons given by the Electoral Commission Chairperson, Madam Jean Mensa for a new voters’ register are needless and has a greater potential to affect the 2020 general elections.
According to him, Jean Mensa in order to satisfy her own political desires is using unstable and non-electoral words which have no meaning anywhere in the country's electoral books to justify her autocratic decision.
Speaking in a one-on-one interview on UTV's 'Adekye Nsroma' Friday edition programme, he specifically stated that the current EC administration is the worst inexperienced Commissioners Ghana has ever had.
To him they have refused to learn new things or study the demands of the office they currently occupy.
General Mosquito as he is affectionately called stressed that Jean Mensa in respect to her job is bitting more than she can chew all in the name of saving her party, but she should be careful with her credibility.
"She has put a lot of vital dealings as far as the 2020 elections is concerned on her head,” he said.
He added that the EC boss has fabricated a solution and now looking for a problem to fit it.

IF THE EC GOES AHEAD TO COMPILE A NEW REGISTER. SOME OF US WILL PROTEST IF JOURNALIST ARE GIVEN PROTOCOL AT THE REGISTRATION CENTERS TO BY PASS THE REST OF THE MASSES. SOME JOURNALIST SIT ON RADIO AND WHEN ISSUES OF NATIONAL CONCERN COMES UP FOR DISCUSSIONS THEY DONT MAKE SENSE AT ALL BECAUSE THEY FEELS THEY ARE SOME SPECIAL HUMAN BEINGS.THIS TIME ROUND BESIDE THE DISABLE, PREGNANT WOMEN AND THE AGED ALL OF US MUST GO THROUGH THE PROCESS EVEN IF IT WILL TAKE THE WHOLE DAY TO BE REGISTERED. IF THE EC FAILS TO DO THAT WE SHALL GO TO THE HUMAN RIGHT COURT FOR DISCRIMINATION.
FOLKS NEVER MIND THESE BABIES WITH SHARP TEETH. NDC HAS NEVER WON ELECTIONS IN GHANA, ERHAPS WITH THE EXCEPTION OF PROF MILLS TENURE. SO LET THEM CONTINUE TO MAKE UNNECESSARY NOISE. THEY NEVER MAKE SENSE ANYWAY!
So far the stance that NDC has taken on the issue of the compilation of New register, makes NDC suspicious of something best known to the NDC-self. I think Ghanaians are awake enough to realize that NDC's strategy had always been like, first, use all means at hand whether false or diabolic to obtain the political power and when we fail to satisfy the electorates with good Governance and development which we have least planned for, we resort to kleptocracy to maintain power. Then, NDC has no message to convince and win the confidence of the electorates, that they really have what it takes to better lead them (electorates) to Ghana beyond aid. To date no visionary message from the NDC side.
Okuraseni. When Charlotte Osei was appointed EC Commissioner ,what experience did she have?Had she worked anywhere as commissioner before her appointment? You people are truly desperate and i'm really wondering what your real fear in compiling a new register is.Right now it is a test of wills if NDC was able to stop compiling a new register when they were in power let us see if they have what it takes to stop it in opposition.
Someone put it rightly - The is very good in "intellectualizing Idi.ocy!
I wish a sane and matured NDC-member would come out to say what NDC has in store for Ghaha when voted into power in 2020. To date, NDC has not been able to prove to Ghanaians that this time, they are politically well-prepared to turn things around better than it did in their previous Administration. Instead of laying out policies to portray their visionary leadership, if they have any, relevant to solving the Ghanaian problems, they are desperately fabricating false and exaggerated stories to make the NPP-Administration look bad. This pathological incompetence does not win an election except that, NDC underrates the Ghanaian electorates so much such that, it believes they (electorates) would buy into that baseless propaganda. I'm very happy that the competent Mrs. Jean Mensa stays firm and pushes his agenda through as per her mandate as EC-Boss and EC regulations.
Good old Vincent Assiseh( may his soul RIP) said in 2000 that the NDC was not a party that had won elections genuinely.
Corrupt and selfish NDC leadership is taking a lot of people in Ghana for granted...deceiving them ...... They love their party more than their country. That party is finished.
@ Max, BAM on the spot, you have said it all 200% absolutely true.
NDC is the worst political party in Ghana. I wonder where and how they make the numbers to attain the position as the largest opposition party in Ghana. The General Secretary is incompetent and lacks the ability to argue constructively. Out of his complex about his intellect he attacks and offends his political opponents with his rude behavior. I can bet with my last penny NDC has lost the election abysmally beforehand.
