Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry, Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah, wants members of the National Democratic Congress [NDC] to bow their heads in shame for roping the country in such international embarrassment in the matter of the recent Airbus scandal.
He has also called for stringent and properly laid-down laws to deal with corruption-related cases in the country.
In a 31st January, 2020 judgement, between the Director of the Serious Fraud Office and Airbus SE, the UK's Crown Court at Southwark fined the European multinational aerospace corporation $3.9 billion for the payment of bribes to secure deals in five countries, including Ghana.
A London High Court charged with five counts of failing to prevent bribery, having used a network of secret agents to pay large-scale backhanders to officials in foreign countries to land high-value contracts.
Speaking on UTV’s ‘Adekye Nsroma’ newspaper discussion political segment, the Tema West Constituency MP believed it will be in order if President Akufo-Addo tasks the Attorney General, Miss Gloria Akuffo to sue the aircraft manufacturer, Airbus aside the on-going investigations to be conducted by the Special Prosecutor.
“ . . I call on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to commission the Attorney General to sue aircraft manufacturer, Airbus aside the on-going investigations conducted by the special prosecutor because the reports have it that they overpriced the airbus sold to us,” he stated.

No name was mentioned, but NPP is quick to say it is Mahama. You see Ghanaians are not even taking NPP seriously on this issue. When all plans to tarnish Mahama fails, NPP last resort would be the Supreme Court. They would hide behind a Citizen and Sue at the Supreme Court that Mahama is not qualified. NPP would think they have Judges who side with them, but I bet you the party would be shocked. Some of us are very strategic and can predict an individual's action very well.
Well, if you cannot read to understand a report, I guess you must have wisdom to understand it meaning. In this case, no ones name is mentioned, the Government of Ghana paid what the agents demand as per the deal. Remember Mahamas' name was not mentioned in the report. Some people should go back to school and learn English)
MAHAMA AND ALL INVOLVED MUST BE INVESTIGATED AND FOUND GUILTY TO HAVE THE BASIS TO SUE AIRBUS. MAHAMA MIGHT BE THE FIRST FORMER PRESIDENT IN GHANA TO BE IMPRISONED. THE STATE MUST FOLLOW THE RIGHT PROCESS TO INVESTIGATE THE MATTER TO THE BOTTOM. AS THE MALAYSIANS SAYS IF YOU WANT TO WEED OUT CORRUPTION BEGIN FROM THE TOP AND NOT THE BOTTOM. WE DON'T WANT ANY KANGAROO COURTS TO TRY THOSE WHO ARE INVOLVED. WE DON'T NEED TO KILL ANYBODY FOR ACCUSATION BASED ON PERCEPTION. PROPER INVESTIGATION MUST BE DONE FOR THE TRUTH TO BE SOUGHT. THE CULPRIT MUST BE MADE TO PAY AND BE PUNISHED FOR WHATEVER IS STOLEN FROM STATE. IT WAS FOR THE AIM TO HIDE ALL THIS THAT MILLS DIED. FOR THE SAKE OF THE BLOOD SHED IN THE NAME OF CORRUPTION, NOBODY MUST BE SHIELDED FOR A CORRUPT DEED. THE GHOSTS OF THE GENERALS, THE GHOSTS OF OVERTHROWN PRESIDENTS ACCUSED OF UNSUBSTANTIATED CORRUPTIONS, AND THE GHOST OF MILLS WHO DIED MYSTERIOUSLY WOULD NOT FORGIVE THIS GENERATION IF WE OVERLOOK ANY REAL CASE OF CORRUPTION. GOD BLESS GHANA. GOD BLESS ANYONE WHO STAND BY THE SIDE OF TRUTH TO FIGHT CORRUPTION IN GHANA.
