Special Aide to former President John Mahama, Godwin Tamakloe says the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) will not kowtow to President Akufo-Addo’s assurance of peaceful election when the EC Chairperson Jean Mensa is carrying the country to a journey of no return.
He explained that the technical evaluation report of the Electoral Commission (EC) indicates that the date issued by the EC to carry out the compilation of new voters’ register conflicts with the date that the contractor will need to deliver the BVRs and BVDs for the registration exercise.
Speaking on Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, Edudzi Tamakloe said that the technical evaluation report from the best company indicates that it will take 84 days for the BVRs to be delivered and the BVDs in 150 days from the date of signing of the contract.
“If the EC’s contract is signed today, the company says it will require 84 days to deliver the machines and so approximately the machines will be delivered in May. These machines will then be assembled and it may take a week to finish the assembling and may even take 2 weeks to clear the machines at the port before electoral officers will be trained to carry the registration exercise,” he assessed.
To him, per the analysis, the actual registration exercise will start in June whereas, the EC has come out to say that the registration will start on April 18, 2020.
The private legal practitioner believed this and other actions by the EC, could plunge the country into chaos and it is against this backdrop that John Mahama cautioned the EC.
“It is in that sense that John Mahama has said that if the EC does not listen to the concerns expressed by well-meaning members of the public and something goes wrong in the election, the EC should not turn around to blame any political party. Then, Nana Akufo-Addo says he doesn’t understand what Mahama has said . . .
“ . . and the President says we should keep quiet and allow it to happen before we can talk. If we do that then we are not wise because the evaluation report shows clearly that it is not possible to compile a new register. John Mahama is aware of all this documentation we are talking about and that is why he has cautioned the EC to be careful, and then Nana Addo wades in and questions why Mahama cautioned Jean Mensa?” he wondered.

THE BOYCOTT OF MINORITY IN PARLIAMENT SHOULD NOT SURPRISE ANYBODY. IT WAS MEANT TO DIVERT ATTENTION FROM THE SHAME OF MAHAMA. IT IS ALL BECAUSE OF THE AIRBUS SCANDAL. MAHAMA IS DISTINCTIVELY SUGGESTED TO BE THE GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL ONE OF THE SCANDAL AND HIS BROTHER AS INTERMEDIARY 5. EVER SINCE THE SCANDAL BROKE OUT MAHAMA HAS FAILED TO DENY IT. SINCE SILENCE MEANS CONSENT MANY BELIEVE STRONGLY THAT MAHAMA IS THE OFFICIAL 1 WHO CONNIVED WITH OTHERS TO STEALL FROM THE STATE OF GHANA. MANY IN GHANA AND OUTSIDE AS WELL AS MEMBERS OF DIPLOMATIC CORPS SHARE SIMILAR VIEW ABOUT MAHAMA. THE SHAME OF THE AIRBUS SCANDAL MADE IT DIFFICULT FOR MAHAMA TO ATTEND SONA AND SIT WITH OTHER FORMER PRESIDENTS. THE DECISION OF MAHAMA NOT TO ATTEND SONA WAS TO CAUSE A TALK IN TOWN. PEOPLE WOULD HAVE ASKED WHY HE DID NOT COME AND SPECULATED. TO DIVERT ATTENTION ON THE ON MAHAMA AND THE AIBUS SCANDAL MATTER. THE NDC MPs WALK OUT ON FLIMSY EXCUSES WAS ONLY MEANT FOR DIVERSION. MAHAMA RECENT ATTACK ON EC SUPPORTED BY NDC AND THEIR BOYCOTT OF SONA ARE ALL MEANT TO DIVERT ATTENTION FROM THE AIRBUS SCANDAL.

Somebody educate me please. I don't get it. Why is the NDC insisting on having their way in the case of voters register compilation? Are there elders in the country or better still are there any elders in the NDC party? Who is this small fry in Ghana politics. Who has made the NDC overseers of the EC? It is just sickening! The attitude of these nonentities.
I thought this young man had some sense and was better than his seniors in NDC. As a lawyer, why should he think the country will be plunged into chaos if a new voters' register is compiled? New voters' registers were compiled in 1992, 2004, 2012 and there was no chaos in this country. Why would anyone think there would be chaos if a new register is compiled in 2020. The time lines for the compilation of this proposed register is the same as those earlier compiled and there was no chaos. NDC is hell bent on stopping the EC from doing its work for no apparent reason. The cost of the proposed new register and accompanying equipment is cheaper than the cost of limited registration that was carried out in 2016. The old system is out of date and obsolete as confirmed by the original vendor. This old system is fully controlled by foreigners. This is what John Mahama and NDC used to rig the 2012 elections by 500,000 votes for John Mahama. How could the presidential candidate John Mahama garner almost 500,000 votes more than all his party's parliamentary candidates put together? The proposed system has stronger bio-metric features than the old system which is obsolete anyway. So what can possibly be the reason why NDC is bent on burning the country if the EC goes ahead to compile the new register? The only possible reasons are: 1. The old register is probably bloated in certain areas that favour NDC, and so they are scared they wont have the same opportunity to bloat it again during the compilation of a new register. 2. The compilation of the new register will reveal the real numbers of the electorate and therefore confirm that NDC has always been rigging elections in this country. Out of the periods that new registers have been compiled, it was only in 2004 that it was done under NPP. As confirmed a year ago by the party's chairman, NDC has planned to make the country ungovernable and create hell for the EC and its chairperson. It is the duty of Ghanaians to protect this innocent woman because she's simply doing her job. Why is it that if the NDC doesn't get what they want, then Ghana should burn? Let the EC do its work and NDC has the right to inform their members to refuse to register.
ndc is the most uselessss political party ever created, when was the last time new voters registration has cause a blood bath all that they are doing and saying give credence to the allegation that Ghanaians has never voted for ndc but through electoral register manipulation that is why they always feel like having some one they can manipulate at the helm of affairs at the commission. they can cry blood and burn the sea the new voters register is coming they can choose not to register no one cares, kwashia buuuului
Mr. Whatever you call yourself; you are a lawyer, if you feel the EC Boss is doing something wrong just go to court and stop wasting our ears. By the way is it true that Amadu Sulley told you guys that if you allow a new register to be done then you're finished forever.
THE BEST YOU CAN DO IS TO TRY THE COURTS AND NOTHING ELSE
