Editor-in-Chief of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr. has called for a collective effort from all Ghanaians to fight against the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
Kwesi Pratt Jnr. was worried about the attitude of some citizens who might have relaxed on their efforts in addressing the pandemic and preventing mass transmission of the virus.
Although disagreeing with President Akufo-Addo for lifting restrictions on movement, he called on every individual in the country to be a responsible citizen and adhere to all the safety protocols to fight the disease.
Mr. Pratt believed should the nation unite irrespective of religion, political affiliations and other differences, the disease will be overcome and therefore there will little to no spread of the virus.
"We have to unite to fight this disease. It is not about religion, political affiliation or anything. We will win if we come together to fight the disease," he said on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' program Friday.
Ghana has recorded 1,279 cases of COVID-19 with 134 recoveries.

Look at his teeth. This idi*t will not stop talking. Senior journalist my foot!
OYIWA, KWESI YOU SEEMED TO BE SHAKEN BY COVID-19. THE 1ST TIME YOU HAVE BECOME SOBER AND THOUGHTFUL. I WILL HELP YOU. THE LOCKDOWN WAS NOT HELPFUL. IT WAS EMBARRASSING TO THE SECURITY FORCES. I AGREE WITH THE BRITISH SCIENTIST PATRICK VALLANCE WHO SUGGESTED HERD IMMUNITY. CAREFUL OBSERVATION OF THE SPREAD OF THE CORONAVIRUS ACROSS THE WORLD, FROM ASIA TO EUROPE, TO USA AND THEN TO SOUTH AMERICA AND AFRICA SHOWS THAT COVID-19 WILL NEVER STOP TO SPREAD UNTIL IT HAS AFFECTED EVERY SURVIVING PERSON ON THE GLOBE. THE SUCCESSFUL WAY THEN TO FIGHT THE VIRUS IS NOT TO STOP ITS SPREAD BUT TO STOP ITS ABILITY TO CAUSE DEATH. HENCE, IT IS BETTER TO ALLOW IT TO SPREAD AT THE TIME WHEN IT IS NOT KILLING THAN TO ALLOW IT TO SPREAD DURING THE COLD WEATHER WHEN THE DEATH RATE BECOMES HIGH. OTHERS ATTRIBUTE THE LOW DEATH RATE IN GHANA TO THE LOCAL HEALTH PRACTICES. IN NEW YORK SOME GHANANIANS GOT INFECTED. THEY WERE CAUGHT OFF GUARD SO SEVERAL LIVES WERE LOST AT THE BEGINNING. AS MORE AND MORE RESORTED TO THE USE OF GINGER, LEMON AND OTHER TRADITIONAL CONCOCTION, TOGETHER WITH HOT WATER INHALE, MANY GOT CURED. GHANAIANS HAVE BECOME AWARE AND THEY ALSO HAVE RESORTED TO THE THERAPY TO SAVE THEIR LIVES. IT IS ALSO BELIEVED THAT THE VIRUS CANNOT SURVIVE LONG IN A HIGH TEMPERATURE. THEY GET WEAKER IN HEAT AND CAUSE MILD SICKNESS EVEN WHEN ONE GETS INFECTED. IN THIS CASE THE BEST WAY TO FIGHT THE VIRUS IN TROPICAL AFRICA IS TO GO BY "HERD IMMUNITY". THUS, LIFE MUST BE ALLOWED TO BECOME NORMAL WITH ORDINARY RESTRICTIONS IN PLACE IN ORDER TO CONTAIN THE SPREAD WITHIN THE LOCAL HEALTH CAPACITY. ALL BUSINESS MUST RETURN TO NORMAL WHILE COMPLYING WITH ALL THE SAFETY PRECAUTION MEASURES.
I heard Mr Pratt condemning any lockdown about a month ago on Kokrookoo.
Tell this to John Ford Mahama to stop his campaign...
Lack of common sense approach to fight this pandemic will result in more deaths. We are told number of positives cases are shelved and release as at when it pleases someone. Without truth , we would be joking if correct figures are not made known to the public to create awareness..Also, periodic announcement is not helping. The public should be able to access the figures from the task force data base. No media confusion. We are all at risk, and no political party would be spared, therefore a united front is essential in COVID 19 FIGHT. Timely briefing is very important, politicization will never help, no matter the number of times ghanaian pray and fast- The lies and against must stop else ghanaians will die in numbers - whether NPP OR NDC
