President Nana Akufo-Addo has told his governing New Patriotic Party leaders and members that they must not break the COVID-19 safety protocols again as they did during the party’s parliamentary primaries on Saturday, 20 June 2020.
In his acceptance speech at the party’s ceremony to acclaim him as the presidential candidate for 2020 on Saturday, 27 June 2020, Mr Akufo-Addo said: “My dear friends and colleagues, this past weekend, our party came to the end of the processes that we have to go through to prepare for the elections in December with the primaries in constituencies, where we have sitting MPs”.
“Unfortunately, in our enthusiasm and sheer unbridled joy, we broke some of the COVID-19 safety protocols. It should not happen again”, he warned.
“I congratulate all those who came out winners, and have got the opportunity to represent our party at the elections in December. As always happens during elections, there were losers. Many of these people are important personalities in our party, and are playing critical roles in Parliament, as are all the others”.
“But those of us in politics know that these things happen, we know that to use the famous words of our one-time General Secretary, we have to continue to fear delegates, but we remain firm in our belief that losing one election cannot and does not mean the end of your political life. I am a living example”, the President encouraged.
“I urge all of us to get over our disappointments quickly, and unite to go before the country. This was the message I gave to the forty-two (42) MPs who lost when I invited them to meet with me at Jubilee House on Thursday. I believe that the message went down well, especially if we recollect the impressive words several of them uttered after their defeat”.

I have never ever trusted this man...... Wonder how you will end your political career........ I am so glad Ghanaians voted you into power and true to our words, you are showing your true colours..... With these acts of yours, how do you intend to keep the peace of this nation? We are all seeing the selective justice, the vindictiveness, the corruption, the incompetence and above all, you are leaving to the mindset of the NPP to ensure NDC never comes back to power... But your acts and actions no matter how long it takes, will surely come to an end!! If borders are being protected from COVID-19, why volta and Oti borders? How about the Elubo, Sampa, Dormaa Ahenkro and the rest? I am now convinced that, you end is sooner than later.....Just go on.........
Why now? Why didn't you just warn the Pastors who flaunted the protocols but allowed them to be sent to jail. Now the President/NPP has clearly told Ghanaians that it is either you are with us or you will be dealt with. It seems when the President was speaking about people being punished for breaking any of the COVID-19 protocols, it was only meant for the non NPP Ghanaian but not those who belongs to the NPP. God is watching
Mr president please open the airport for us to come home and invest. You are restricting every movement in Ghana yet you allow the npp to hold their primaries. That's dictatorship.
76 year old who is close to your grave, why wouldn't you leave some beautiful legacy. Why are you so threacherous? Why? This certainly is not the time you should have given this advice, it is long overdue. Do you think all Ghanaians are not discerning? You are certainly taking most of us for granted. But your day of reckoning is coming like a whirlwind. You are not genuine at all. Stop singing Asempapa bi matse oye oye! You are everything opposite of a true Christian. You allow npp have their primary for hours but church should start and end in an hour. How cruel!
SORRY NANA. IT WAS NOT INTENDED.
@Sam. Ma bro Sam, you were very charitable with Nana Addo. To quote your words you said he is very dishonest, diabolical, wicked and hypocrite. Not only that: - he is also corrupt, divisive, vampire, a hatchet man, nepotistic and a "nation wrecker". Still wondering why ghanaians voted for this man. To him only NPP members are ghanaians. Just cast your mind back. Yes he will be jailing non-Akan pastors and leave the Alan ones. Today the Voltarians are his target; all in an attempt to whittle and frustrate them in the upcoming voters registration exercise. The "All Die Be Die" mantra he dreamt and propounded it has come into reality today.
If we talking about the most dishonest man in Ghana today, he is our current president, herrrrr!! This man is so diabolically dishonest. He has jailed many vulnerable pastors for flouting COVID19 protocols but never asked the police to deal with npp politicians who flouted same protocols with impunity during their primaries. Now that all npp primaries and acclamation is done, he is warning npp politicians, what an amazing hypocrite. No wonder Ghanaians have seen through his hypocrisy and dishonesty and want him out of government. I would not vote for such a plain wicked dishonest man for even a class prefect.
