President Akufo-Addo has eulogized the late CEO of the Forestry Commission, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie who died on Wednesday evening at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
He posted on his Facebook wall . . .
I received the news of the death of Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, aka Sir John, with great shock and deep sadness. Indeed, the disbelief and grief expressed by many at the news of his death are testimony to how people, in and out of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), felt about him.
Passionate devotee of the Danquah-Dombo-Busia political tradition, outstanding stalwart of the NPP, strong defender of human rights as a lawyer, proud, faithful adherent of the Christian Adventist faith – these were the multi-facetted aspects of the career and character of ‘Sir John’, which earned him considerable renown both as erstwhile General Secretary of the NPP and CEO of the Forestry Commission.
Energetic, ebullient, jovial, with an exceptional sense of humour, and possessing a limitless store of folktales and proverbs, he affected positively every person with whom he came into contact.
He was truly unforgettable, and our party and government owe him an immense debt for his work and commitment.
My wife Rebecca and I extend our deepest condolences to his entire family. Sakora Wonoo has lost a valiant son. He will be widely missed.
May the Good Lord bless him, and give him a peaceful place of abode in His Bosom until the Last Day of the Resurrection when we shall all meet again.
Sir John, we will never forget you!!

what shall profit a politician if he wins elections and contract COVID19. I wonder which part of the world Africans are coming from. Look at how because of politics we have forgotten that a killer disease called COVID19 is our next door neighbor? do we want to see the exact same thing which happened in Europe? lets wait for it!
May his soul rest in perfect peace
The Ghanaian way of doing things after a person dies. if he was that darling 'man' why did gabby solely changed him from PORTS & HARBOR to ( he is kurasi ni so) FORESTRY. Is time we let what we will say after death be our actions when the dead was alive. Am praying i get captured else, those f.a.ke tears and eulogy ma ghost will even slap them. Lets be bold and applaud someone when its needed not when its not important. am waiting for what that watery mouth assin budo will say after highly maligning him for kwabena agyapong to win the general secretary only to be sacked. the sort of disgrace and accusations against him, i don't think this shame like ken can eulogize sir John.
