The Minority in Parliament has disclosed an official at the Jubilee House has been picked up for allegedly engaging in galamsey. Minority Leader, however failed to give details but only mentioned one Damoah as the official at the seat of government picked up by national security.
According to the Tamale South MP, several other government officials are engaged in the illegal mining business since they feel emboldened by the fact that their government is in power.
Speaking at a leadership media engagement in parliament, Haruna Iddrisu warned against any cover-up adding the minority is keenly following the development.
“I hear a gentleman was picked up some two days ago at Flag Staff House, one Damoah. We’re following the case closely and nobody should make the attempt to cover up what his doings have been relative to his engagement or involvement in galamsey. he was picked up by National Security and they’re trying to cover up, we’re following very closely,” the minority leader said.
Meanwhile, the Majority Leader, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu has justified government’s decision to burn excavators seized from illegal miners.

So if someone from the Jubilee house has been caught as a “galamsay operator “ , does it means that the president is also involved in it? A potential presidential candidate and possibly a president should not stoop so low. Haruma should leave these comments to the Kwaku Boahens and the Sammy Gyamfis.
