Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, has tabled before Parliament a car loan purchase agreement amounting to US$28 million for 275 Members of the Parliament, Citi News has reported.
This would mean each MP is expected to receive an amount of US$100,000 for the purchase of a vehicle which will be sourced from the National Investment Bank.
The papers which have been presented before the Finance Committee of Parliament will be considered and subsequently update the House with a report on the move. Already, Parliament on Tuesday July 6, 2021, approved a loan request by government from the World Bank to allocate an additional US$200 million to help it fight the coronavirus pandemic.
A report by the Finance Committee of the House explained that government will, out of the total allocation, spend US$137.15million to procure COVID-19 vaccines intended to inoculate 7.6 million of the Ghanaian population and undertake other interventions in the health care system.
Meanwhile, you can nominate personalities and organisations for the GhanaWeb Excellence Awards, the people's choice award scheme aimed at acknowledging personalities, groups, and organisations who have contributed immensely to the development of Ghana.
Nominations are unlimited and end on August 31, 2021.

And some foooils were following this politicians demonstrating? Wasn't it approve by both sides (NDC/NPP)in parliament? I pity the ordinary Ghanaians who follow politicians in this hot sun demonstrating at the expense of their health tweaa.
I'm beginning to fall in love with Twene Jonas. I used to hate him but I have now realized that he is doing great job. Parliament 'siafor and criminals. We don't have good roads, bridges and elementary schools for our kids and they are going for loans for those criminals and fo-ols and after 4yrs they will get $107k exgracia. What exactly have they been doing? Ghana constitution is bogus and ***barred word***.
That's what we know ***barred word*** and rubbish things but will not even do road and gutter..jokers
Do we have to buy cars for MPs every 4 years? How long can we be doing this? Should we not let the constituencies raise money from their elected district assemblies to pay for the upkeep of their MPs from their local resources and income? We Ghanaians must stop tolerating the foooooooolish mismanagement of our scarce resources that benefit few at the expense of the many.
