General Secretary of the largest opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia says the CDD report on corruption, crime and joblessness resonate with the position of his party for the past two years about the Akufo-Addo administration.
He said the CDD report is far from the truth that the majority of Ghanaians do not believe that the Akufo-Addo government can put an end to corruption and the high rate of crime in the country.
According to the NDC Chief Scribe, the root cause of unemployment and the high crime rate in the country is corruption which is rampant under the administration of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Explaining on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, Asiedu Nketia said that job creation and developmental projects which are largely dependent on the limited resources are being shared among some few individuals in the Akufo-Addo government, making the majority of the youth suffer to find their daily bread.
He was of the view that until corruption is reduced in the country, development will never take place and expansion of job opportunities will not be possible; thus, the inability of the government to address the corruption in the country will not make the job creation happen.
“Another effect of corruption is crime . . . if the government through conscious policies do things that the citizens will feel they are marginalized, this will bring discontent in society . . ." he said.
He further indicated that the CDD report on the 2020 general elections echoes the long-standing position of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) did not win the election except that they manipulated the system to remain in power.

The situation of corruption in Ghana today is not worst than that of the previous administration of the NDC. The good people of Ghana are aware of that and so no amount of perception of corruptions fabricated or insinuated by the NDC would make Ghanaians believe otherwise. All those allegations of corruptions made by the NDC presume a low level of intelligence of Ghanaians. Which I strongly believe is not the case, hence Ghanaians would not buy into them. In the absence of he ability to engage in constructive and intellectual discourse NDC had opted for vicious propaganda, for which they do best.
So is it corruption that made Mahama and NDC freezed employment in Ghana? In fact you and Mahama are really disgracing yourselves by making some unnecessary comments that indicte you
NDC has started their corruption mantra again... This time it won't work. Bank of Ghana winning an abitration case in London from this criminal gangs called NDC.... 1.195Billion Dollars just for Mobile -to-Mobile money transfer switching... which a new Government doing same with only 4.5Million Dolars....
When NDC came to power they froze employment for 8 years. Let us consider the backlog of graduates needing employment. Now let us add those who have graduated also needing employment. If NDC had not frozen employment the numbers would have been smaller. The GDP also fell to about 3%. The economy stagnated which led to more unemployment. NDC introduced many taxes which brought unbearable hardships on Ghanaians. There was massive corruption when NDC was in power. The Corruption Perception Index also prove the point. That why NDC lost power. NDC did contribute massively to the unemployment situation we face today. They did not eliminate unemployment but aggravated it by their policies. They did not eliminate corruption they also embedded it in our social fabric. Many of their officials are well noted for their corruption. The NDC behavior now is like the coal calling the charcoal very black. The cry from NDC is who is more black, coal or charcoal? Let us stop this hypocrisy. Both NDC and NPP are guilty of the same crime. Both are not Saints.
Remember when you were the sole supplier for the construction of the Bui dam when at the same period a board member. Conflict of interest. True or False? I’m sorry people like you and president Mahamas were deep in it. I wonder why the ndc can’t bring in new faces to campaign for change. Let us face this. Just imagine Mahama telling Bawumia or Alan Kyeremanteng his likely challengers that any one them is corrupt. We can leave it or take it the perception of corruption about Mahama is worrying for the ndc but it is because of DUKA DAJA that’s why a chunk of the leadership of the ndc is supporting Mahama. The ndc might regret after the 2024 election.
