The election and approval of MMDCEs to assist President Nana Akufo-Addo at the local government level is ongoing but as some nominees have already received massive endorsement from their Assembly members, others face rejections.
The voting by Assembly members and government appointees on the new Chief Executives for the various Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) has been met with strong agitations from some Assembly members.
Reacting to the opposition against some nominees, Senior Political Science Lecturer at the University of Ghana, Dr. Kwame Asah Asante has asked agitated members to cease fire.
He cautioned them not to go on rampage stressing ''we don't build a nation with destruction''.
Dr. Asah Asante spoke on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' programme.
