Former Acting General Secretary of the Convention People's Party (CPP), James Kwabena Bomfeh, has called for the resignation of National Security Minister, Albert Kan-Dapaah over the brawl in Parliament on Monday, December 20 2021 involving the Minority and Majority members.
According to him, Mr Kan-Dapaah has weak intelligence gathering and appears not to be on top of security issues.
The Members of Parliament laid aside their parliamentary conduct and took up their boxing gloves to fight one another.
The fight began when the Minority refused to allow the First Deputy Speaker, Joseph Osei-Owusu, who was sitting in for the Speaker Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin, to hand over to his Second Deputy; so he could assume his position as an MP.
The Majority and Minority gave Ghanaians a show of their punching skills as they came at each other, wrestling to overpower the other.
Discusing the incident during a panel discussion on Peace FM's Wednesday's edition of ''Kokrokoo'', James Kwabena Bomfeh, also called Kabila, blamed the National Security Minister for taking no measures to stop this unparliamentary conduct of the MPs.
He explained that there is a strong security detail in Parliament consisting of the Marshalls, Police and National Security operatives, hence what transpired in Parliament on Monday ''ought not to have happened'' and this is why he blames the National Security Minister.
He berated Hon. Kan-Dapaah for his laxity in preventing the brawl from happening in the House.
He noted that the recent incident is the fourth time that MPs have had a fight since the inception of the 8th Parliament and to him, Hon. Kan Dapaah shouldn't have sat aloof for another fight to happen in the House.
To Kabila, the National Security Minister has let down the security of Parliament, therefore his resignation will suffice to help restore sanity in the House.
"Whether we like it or not, there are national security assignment in Parliament that must go on. How this has happened for a fourth time, the National Security Minister must answer. He must answer with a resignation or a better explanation. And I repeat that the National Security Minister, he must answer. He must answer with a resignation or better explanation and I don't think there can be any better explanation than a resignation," he stressed.

I now understand the reason why the cpp rejected him as their general secretary and selected a woman instead. He's really mindless. What did want ken Dapaah to do in this instance. Were they shooting eachother? This was just a case of resisting oppressors rule, by pushing eachother. If someone was punched or slapped it was just an occupational hazard.
HOW DO YOU EXPECT THE BLAME TO BE ON NDC... WHY IS THAT JOE OSEI OWUSU BEHAVING LIKE A RAT. HE'S DISGRACING THE HOUSE ALL IN THE NAME OF NPP.
Mr Bomfeh, it is very easy to criticise the National Security Minister but if the truth is to be told, you should know where you should direct your criticism. Those Parliamentarians who decided to attack their colleagues on the other side are the ones we should name and shame.
If you don’t have any sensible thing to say just shut your beak What has Kan Dapaah got to do with this You should rather blame Alban Bagbin for his poor leader ship. Why is everybody picking on NPP I have not heard anyone blaming NDC THEY are scared Sammy Gyanfi and co will tear them to pieces
What’s this boy saying? What do you want from Ken Dapaah?
Mr. Bomfeh, are you a stranger in Ghana? On the 7th Jan.2021 during the swearing in and the same ***barred word*** behavior of some MP misbehaved and the security was involved to instill calm. What did Ghanaian and some NDC MP said ? Some of your commentary are recipe for war nd anarchy .Honestly Some MP are not deserving as an MP looking at their current conduct .
