The Member of Parliament(MP) for South Dayi Constituency, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, has described making public the withdrawal of the Speaker’s military bodyguard by the Ghana Armed Forces as “Unfortunate”.
According to him, the idea behind the withdrawal might be political to frustrate him.
His comment comes after the Ghana Armed Forces in a statement said the Speaker’s military guards were deployed without due process.
Government has also justified the withdrawal of the soldiers saying they are not supposed to be part of Speaker Alban Bagbin's security detail.
But Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show, 'Ghana Montie' said the approach by Armed Forces was wrong.
“It should have been just a phone call. Who wrote the letter? Couldn’t we have done this quietly?” he questioned.

But publicizing the President's travelling details and cost was necessary for you and NDC? Bunch of hypocrites
After leaking the letter between Gaf and the Speakers office our Socal media mps now have the guts to be apportioning blame. What incentive has Gaf to leak such a letter? Smh🤦♀️
Look you the NDC can go to hell die. what is so unique about the speaker. who is he? is he GOD? please you people in the NDC should let us think wai. we have lived in this country, okay and we saw your rule.
Wow, these NDC guys don't even like transparency and this is surprising. Well done Ghana Army for making it known to everyone that this Speaker has a lot of job related benefits but yet he is not doing his job well. We must hold Bagbin's feet to fire regarding his performance.
Was it not Bagbin who leaked both his response and the letter from GAF? You people koraa what?
