A Member of the Finance Committee in Parliament, Hon Richard Acheampong, says one of the local football teams in the country, Berekum Arsenals is even better than the current Economic Management Team.
According to him, the country's woes is partly attributed to the inept performance of the Economic Management Team.
Speaking on Okay FM's 'Ade Akye Abia' programme, Hon Acheampong, who is the NDC Member of Parliament for Bia East, accused the government of deliberately refusing to be proactive in introducing policies that will alleviate Ghanaians from the hardship they are currently facing.
"The Economic Management Team has failed to serve its purpose of ensuring an improvement in the living conditions of Ghanaians. Everything in this country has become expensive, traders are complaining, businessmen cannot import again because of the fast rate at which the cedi is depreciating.
"What even annoys me the most is Government's decision to build 111 hospitals. How can you decide to build 111 hospitals when you are broke?" he quizzed.
To him, "Berekum Arsenal team is far better than an Economic Management Team that is bereft of ideas. The team has not even devised measures to tackle inflation let alone stop the depreciation of the cedi against other trading currencies.
"Their performance has been woefully inadequate and abysmal and must be dissolved immediately to save the tax payer of what's left," he said.

Mitigate Cedi Depreciation, Inflation
Meanwhile, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has approved a number of far-reaching measures aimed at bringing relief to Ghanaians.
Some of the measures include mitigating the depreciation of the cedi, ensuring expenditure discipline, providing relief in the face of global fuel price hikes and inflation as government take these decisons to ensure its priority programs meant to grow the economy are protected.
These are some of the steps taken by government at the first quarterly retreat held by Cabinet at Peduase Lodge at Aburi in the Eastern Region as outlined by the Ministry of Information in a statement issued Monday March 21, 2022.
In addition to the scheduled appraisal of the performance of Government programs, Cabinet has also extensively discussed the impact of global economic difficulties on Ghana and the Ghanaian people.
