National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), Sammy Gyamfi says the Economic Intelligence Unit has no locus to advise them on who they (NDC) should select as the flagbearer of the party for the 2024 general elections.
According to him, they may agree with them on the other findings in their research but certainly not on who to lead the party for their 2024 elections.
Speaking on Okay FM's 'Ade Akye Abia' programme, he explained that former President John Dramani Mahama has been tried, proven and tested and that it is only proper that he leads the party to victory as they have disclosed in the research.
"Though the party will allow for the former President to be contested, it will not be proper for him to be discarded entirely as the party's leader for the general elections," he said.
"John Mahama is the only candidate who can take the seat from the bad and corrupt NPP government and we will do a great disservice to Ghanaians and ourselves as a party if we fail to let him lead the party for the next general elections," he added.

NDC can’t win 2024 with Mahama as candidate – EIU report
Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), says the National Democratic Congress (NDC) cannot win the 2024 general elections with former president Mahama as presidential candidate.
This was revealed in the EIU’s five-year forecast for Ghana released on April 13, 2022.
According to the report the NDC can revitalize this prospect of victory if they present a fresh presidential candidate for the 2024 polls.
The latest EIU five-year forecast for Ghana, which was released on April 13, 2022, indicated that “under constitutionally mandated term limits, the incumbent President, Mr. Akufo-Addo, cannot run for a third term.”
The EIU said its baseline forecast is anchored on the “ongoing public dissatisfaction with the slow pace of improvements in governance – such as infrastructure development, job creation and easing of corruption – will trigger anti-incumbency factors and push the electorate to seek a change.”
The report pointed out, however, that Ghanaians do not believe Mr. Mahama, who is considering to run again, represents the change they are looking for, and called on the “NDC to try to revitalise its prospects with a fresh candidate.”
The EIU’s proposal for the NDC to change its presidential candidate to guarantee wide support for the party, has beset the opposition party, whose national executives thought they had overcome their political crisis after the Supreme Court debacle over the election petition.

Sammy Arrogance Gyamfi, it seems this fellas never learnt their lessons.
John Mahama is what the NPP is scared of?? ***barred word*** , insulting and denigrating him all day and you’re scared he’ll come back to crack the whip. Do your worst but be assured Mahama will be president . EIU are the real Fanfoolers
My Noise Maker you cannot do cherry picking on this report, either you take the whole report or you reject it. The one which seems to put NPP on the ground is good for you but the one which affects your preferred aspirant is not okay to you.
Mahama has a very heavy political baggage which contains the Airbus scandal, the purchase of the airplanes from Brazil, Dumsor, inflated contracts, cancellation of teacher and nursing trainee allowances, numerous bribery and corruption scandals, payment of double salaries to some MPs and minister, etc. All these are fresh in the minds of the electorates. The weight of the baggage will be too heavy for JDM to carry for the political journey.
What does the NDC have to offer with Mahama or without Mahama? The value is the same. Keep on underrating the intelligence of the Ghanaians and assuming that they will buy into your insinuated lies, malicious propaganda, and baseless polemics. Take it from me: the NDC has no political message that entails policies that will lead to better livelihoods and living standards for Ghanaians. Ghanaians remember Mahama as a former president who could not deliver and was thus voted out. What he will do better this time is remain utterly silent about it. And that, to me, is a display of incompetence and a deficit in leadership. The EIU report does not need to be explicit about that for one to appreciate this assertion.
THIS INCOMPETENT MAN JOHN ***barred word*** MAHAMA IS COMMUNICATION MAJOR TRAIN IN RUSSIA DOESN'T KNOW NOTHING ABOUT ECONOMICS BUT WANT TO BE A LEADER AND MESS OUR ECONOMY AS HE DID DURING HIS TERM IN OFFICE SIGNED ALL KINDS OF TAKE OR PAY AGREEMENTS WITH POWER PRODUCERS AND ENI THE GAS SUPLLIER AT A HIGH COST THAT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE. This guy will again let NDC down in the elections 2024 . Anytime he talks , he drives away about 20 voters who will vote NDC .The leadership must check this guy properly . NDC woes in the elections 2020 is purely on this guy and the leadership failed to point out to him then and he is doing worst thing
