Deputy National Organizer of the largest opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC), Chief Biney Hamilton Nixon, has wished the NDC well on its 30th Anniversary celebration.
"Happy Anniversary! May God continue to bless the NDC and mother Ghana," he posted on his facebook wall.
Brief History
The National Democratic Congress was founded by Jerry Rawlings, who had been the military leader of Ghana since 1981. In 1992, the National Democratic Congress led the successful transition to multi-party competition, an example of authoritarian-led democratization. The NDC won the 1992 and 1996 elections.
The symbol for the party is an umbrella with the head of a dove at the tip. The party colors are red, white, green, and black, and the party slogan or motto is “Unity, stability, and development.” Internationally, the NDC is a member of the Progressive Alliance and Socialist International.
Following the formation of the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC), which ruled Ghana following the military coup d’état on 31 December 1981, there was pressure from the international community to restore democracy. The NDC was formed as the ruling party ahead of elections in 1992, in which Rawlings was elected president, and in 1996 Rawlings was re-elected as the NDC candidate. Rawlings’ second term ended in 2001.

Such a criminal organization which produces and sells nothing but always employ people, pay salaries and also do investments in billions. Waiting for a day all the political parties will be abolished. They are criminal organizations draining the coffers of the country.
The NDC is not ashamed in celebrating both June 4, 1979 and December 31, 1981 in Ghana. These days saw senseless blood shed of peoples children, husbands, family, etc. You guys have profited from it to amass undeserved and corrupt wealth after killing others and you are here celebrating it. May God forgive you all. If you are on this website and your relative or family close or far suffered untold hardships or killed during these senseless times let your voice be heard. I was a school child in Burma Camp, Base Workshop School and I can tell you what some of went through. So I just laugh when I hear people who have been elected as Parliamentarians singing Revo...Revo...Revo in no other place than the Parliament of Ghana, the seat of our fledgling democracy. Blood thirsty individuals celebrating senseless killings, wanton dissipation of state assets and properties, etc. May God forgive you all. In fact, time heals actually. Where is the son of General Odartey Wellington, Kwabena Adjapong and siblings and children of all who suffered unjustly because of some individuals selfishness and hatred and sheer envy for people who were successful at the time. I will just end here and leave the rest to posterity. But some of us will not and can not forget the evil of wrongs of June 4 and December 31 in the annals of the body-politic of Ghana. Never!!!
Thirty years of Create, Loot and Share, judgement debts champions, guinea fowl frying to Burkina Faso, bus branding, Isofoton, inflating of cost of projects-Kasoa, circle interchanges, Terminal three, giving the Nyinahin Bauxite to one person, stealing of state cars, Dumsor for four years. I can go on to write forty pages of your corrupt government. Shame on you all to celebrate 30 years corruption.
