Director of Legal Affairs for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Gary Nimako Marfo, has cautioned the Organizer of the 'Kume Preko Reloaded' demonstration, Lawyer Martin Kpebu to check his intemperate language against President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo.
According to him, he can have his discussions about the President without using intemperate words against him.
Speaking on Okay FM's 'Ade Akye Abia' programme, he wondered why the astute lawyer prefers to use inordinate words whilst advancing his argument on radio or even on Television.
"The way he speaks is not part of our culture and I believe that Martin Kpebu knows that. You can make your case without insulting. It is also very important to note that he is the President of the land and that you are obliged to accord him with the necessary respect he deserves," he said.
It is also imperative to note that there is global crisis and it is no fault of the President for things to get out of hand, but even with that the President has assured us that he is working to put things under control," he added.
He further explained that he personally placed a private call to his friend (Martin Kpebu) who happens to be his mate at the University of Ghana, Legon to talk him out of the planned demonstration but he did not budge.
"The Martin Kpebu I know during our Legon days is not noted for this kind of talk and activities but if he believes this is the way to go for him, he should declare his political stand and stop the tangent he has taken".
"I am compelled to speak publicly about him now because all attempts to stop him through our various private conversations have proved futile, however, he should be mindful of the way he speaks about the President," he noted.

There is no war in Ghana , but our currency is the worse and inflation is higher here than the war ravaged country. What an irony? People should not say how the mismanagement is reaching them. The president must be made uncomfortable. If the comments are reaching you, tell him to do the needful, he is tearing the country apart. its not only on the economic front, at the the governance level is the same. why is he not causing the galamsay people to be arrested? Why should the ordinary man be paying more for water because of galamsay when he did not contribute to it. What is the president using all the executive power we have given to him for. He has derilicted his duties. he has failed his hometown people, he has failed the people of the Eastern region, he has failed the NPP, he has failed Ghana. But his bank account and that of his cohorts are fat. He should go. Leave Martain Kpebu alone, afterall he too is a tax payer. he is a voice for the voiceless. Come after me, that is what you are paid for.
This good for nothing Martin Kpebu is causing Ghana its reputation to decline. His utterances are reckless and shallow. A mere campaign about economic crisis against Akuffo Addo will not do any good to the NDC in the 2024 elections. What alternative solutions do you have to confront the current economic challenges. The challenges we are going through is a GLOBAL Phenomenon and not only Ghana that is bleeding to death. I hate to see his ***barred word*** face on TV and the internet. Tell you pay masters to come again because your strategy to malign Akuffo-Addo will not work. We prefer being in this condition than voting for your so-called party.
There is something fundamentally wrong about how speculation or perception is relied upon to take hold of real facts when you hear some academics, lawyers, and politicians make certain statements to argue out their stances at the expense of informed opinions. I believe there is a lot of intellectual dishonesty in our political space in Ghana. Or do we make incorrect assumptions? We wrongly measure the intellect of people by their level of proficiency in the Queen's language. When such people fail to effectively or intellectually communicate their views, they tend to be insulting and spew lies. Unfortunately, such characters abound in the NDC and their cohorts in the paid press. They are the elements that have jumped on the president, calling him names and hurling insults at him after his candid address. The Ghanaian economy has structural problems that are inherited from our colonial past. There is a lot of intellectual dishonesty here when you hear some pundits of the economics speak about the current challenges as if they are solely the result of the mess of the Akufo-Addo administration, if there is any at all. Meanwhile, the Akufo-Addo administration is the only one in the Fourth Republic to have made a concerted effort to target the structural deficit of the economy. Specifically, FSHS, 1D1F, and the railroad infrastructure, just to name a few. However, the Kufuor administration laid some remarkable trails. The same cannot be said of any NDC administration making a targeted policy to resolve the structural problems except vilification of its political opponents. Ghana beyond the aid agenda is a policy direction, and some dishonest elements seek to ridicule it as a mere slogan. By the way, Ghana's tourism has realized a remarkable boost in the recent times of the Akufo-Administration. The president made it clear in his speech that we are in crisis, and I see the pandemic and the Ukraine war as the last straw that broke the camel’s back given our unsustainable economic structures.
