The Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei-Mensah claims his territory until recent times was neglected by the previous government in terms of development.
He said the region was never prioritized for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) led governments despite its popularity.
Simon Osei-Mensah was grateful to the NPP government for ensuring the region gets its share of the national cake.
"As of 2017 when we took power, the Ashanti region was the worst in terms of infrastructure,” he claimed in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show, 'Ghana Montie'.
He further said the Nana Addo-led government has set a record in the region with more developmental projects.

I expected the regional minister to have mentioned the said development projects he's alluding to. The NDC will definitely mention the Kejetia market, the numerous hospital projects they started among others. As a regional minister, how do you feel if the Asantehene is the one spearheading the renovation/refurbishment of the Komfo Anokye teaching hospital? Does that not tell you the people of Asante have lost hope and trust in the government? When was sod cut for the Suame interchange to commence? Is work currently on going at the site? The current NPP doesn't know among its hens, the one that lays the golden eggs. At times one wonders what goes into the thinking of the current NPP government. If you compare the Kufuor NPP to the current one, you ask yourself whether it is the same NPP.
