We all know one thing for sure; that the only time to know the true lovers of a person is when the person dies, this is predominantly shown by the number of people who come to pay their last respects at the final funeral rites.
Well wishers, friends, family, neighbors and anyone who surrounded the deceased before he/she’s demise come to prove their love since it’s the last journey on earth.
Not to talk about his status in society as one of the finest to ever make the entertainment industry an exciting one.Well, unfortunately this is the story of one of Ghana’s finest veteran actors Koo Nimo who paved the way for many others.
Known in real life as John Koomson, Koo Nimo hailed from Agona Ankaase in the Central Region and starred in numerous movies like ‘ That day’, Wodzi beyew, Asamoah Nkrabea, and ‘Kyeiwaa. He normally played the role of an elderly person in almost all his movies.
Born in 1933, Koo Nimo who died in March 29, 2017, was buried in April at the Awudome Cemetery in Accra. Nothing was more surprising than the number of people who turned out to show their last respect to this legendary actor at his funeral grounds at Art Centre.
His funeral coincided with the elections of the Actors’ Guild which was held simultaneously at where the funeral took place(Art Centre).
Astonishingly, I couldn’t even see any of his colleague actors or industry friends he made at the funeral. In actual facts, the people who graced the funeral ceremony wouldn’t amass to fifty(50).
You could see the disappointments in the eyes of his wife Maame Manubia who was expecting to see at least half of the numerous Kumawood Actors who his late husband mostly acted with.
Is this how legends and industry players should be shown their last respect after their demise? It’s a tumultuous shame and I am seriously disappointed!

I guess there was a low or publicity about, coz i just found through reading this article... BUT ANYWAY DID YOU YOURSELF ATTEND(article writer)? We'r all at fault right
It unfortunate but what the bible says is true "The poor has no friend"
i never heard the news
i never knew koo nimo is gone. so sad
If they come or not it wont wake him up and what matters is he is safe at heaven for his good deeds. My first time of hearing his death too but what bothers me is a funeral which happened in april which is almost 2months now so why is peacefm bringing it back and for what, lets the death rest peacefully
This is my first hearing this news.
Please let's stop blaming peacefm ..there are lot of issues that led to what we are seeing now. his son on Akwasi Aboagye's entertainment review made them known even before the man passed on. some of us listened to the show so we were abreast with issues..infact we are rather to thank peacefm especially Socrates and the other panalists.they paid for certain expenses for us to even see what we are seeing now
Obra ne warabo.
Oh! my first time of hearing of his demised. Very sad one.
