Ghanaian actor Prince David Osei, is not enthused about the visit by some Hollywood stars to Ghana during the festive season.
He is of the view that the stars should have engaged stakeholders in the Ghanaian creative industry to share ideas.
Ghana was recently 4th on the CNN’s list of perfect holiday destinations in the world.
It was therefore not surprising that the spotlight was on Ghana in December 2018, when top Hollywood stars including Boris Kodjoe, Idris Elba and top model Naomi Campbell among others, visited the country.
However, Ghanaian movie actor and producer Prince David Osei, does not share the raw excitement of most Ghanaians regarding the visit of these stars.
Speaking to Nana Adwoa Sarkodie of Citi TV, the actor said, “I want to find out if the Ministry of Tourism is behind the Hollywood stars coming to Ghana, being in the creative arts and coming from the creative arts, I didn’t see when we got to interact with the so-called Hollywood stars who came to town.”
“I feel if it is a way of boosting tourism they are all in the creative arts industry, they are musicians and actors, so if they come to town we need to interact with them to share expertise and aside that we should have had a workshop. Of what benefit is it to us the actors and the musicians here in Ghana when at the end of the day we saw them at the beach having parties, popping champagne and drinking with some being enstooled as chiefs but we never got to engage them,” he said.
“We in the creative arts never got to meet them or interact with them so I don’t know the essence of the visit if it was for fun,” David added.
The actor who has appeared in a number of films, is also into movie production at present.

prince, wo tw3m wate
Did you bring them? You’re not serious. I’m happy they came, you think they have nothing doing back home? If you were serious you needed them you could have met them. Or you thought they should “know” you. Tweaa
Village Champion. Come to the African American community in the US and see how this trip is being hailed. The Full Circle festival was to celebrate 400 years of Africans into James town, Virginia and not help revive your dead acting career. you guys need to be creative and stop blaming Governments and institutions for your failures.
YOU SO CALLED GHANAIANS STARS WENT INTO HIDIG WHEN THEY WERE IN GHANA AND RESURFACED THEY HAD LEFT.
DAVID OSEI WHAT IS YOUR ISSUE? THEY HAD THEIR ITENARY BEFORE COMING HERE. THEY CAME AT THE BEHEST OF THOSE WHO INVITED THEM..YOU CAN ALSO SEND THEM INVITATION.. IF THEY HAVE THE TIME THEY WILL COME AND MEET YOU..
See this mammal complaining....this cantata akan drama actors call themselves stars...shithöle stars
DAVID, surprised about the way you saw the visit of the stars. They were on a private visit. They met those who matter. You could have prompted the actors guild to at least organize a lunch for you guys to meet and interact with them. Networking is key. You lost the opportunity. Boris visits Ghana often. Meet with him and put your case across.
this guy calls himself an actor?Arrrrr.I dare say he cannot land a part in a crowd scene in Hollywood. as for Ghana all manner of riff-raff get up and are given the platform to spew gibberish.
The Village Chompia. U dey the village inside wey u dey make plenty noise. Make u revive the dead movie industry for here.
BUT AS FOR THIS ONE DEAAA, I DON'T UNDERSTAND YOU. THEY DIDN'T COME FOR YOU. THEY CAME FOR A FUND-RAISING EVENT AND THEY HAD THEIR AGENDA AFTER THAT. IF YOU WANTED TO MEET THEM, YOU SHOULD HAVE MADE THEM AWARE BEFORE THEY GOT TO GHANA. THEY ARE ON TIME AND AGENDA, AND THEY CAN'T BE INTERRUPTED JUST BECAUSE YOU WANT TO MEET WITH THEM AS CREATIVE ARTS TEAM. AMERICANS WORK ON SCHEDULE AND VALUE THEIR TIME ABEG. I WILL LEAVE IT THERE. STOP THE COMPLAINING, AND FIND WAYS OF REVAMPING THE ALMOST DEAD MOVIE INDUSTRY IN GHANA. WE ARE COPY COPY, WE LACK WISDOM AS INDIVIDUALS TO DO OUR WON THING, AND THAT IS WHY WE ARE LACKING PROGRESS. WITH ABUNDANCE OF SOCIAL MEDIA, YOU COULD HAVE GOTTEN IN TOUCH WITH BORIS TO LET HIM KNOW YOU WOULD WANT TO MEET WITH HIM, AND I AM SURE HE WOULD HAVE SAID YES. BUT YOU DIDN'T DO THAT. INSTEAD, YOU ARE HERE MAKING NOISE LIKE THEY CAME TO GHANA FOR YOU AMD MISSED OUT SEEING YOU.
