Goran Stevanovic Arrives For Final Talks On Future

Peacefmonline.com can confirm that dismissed coach of the Senior National Team, the Black Stars, Goran Stevanovic, has reported the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to FIFA, saying he is in a state of shock and fears for his life after an official of the GFA told him (Goran) that they cannot guarantee his safety in the country.

The letter, written by Zoran Andic, the dismissed Coach's lawyer, and cited by peacefmonline.com, asks the world football controlling body to among other things "urge the GFA, the Ministry of Police and President of Ghana, to guarantee the safety of our client Mr. Goran Stevanovic, because these things are against all statutes and regulations of the FIFA".

The GFA finally parted company with the Serbian as the Black Stars coach on Monday after three weeks of extensive meetings.

The 45-year-old’s current contract with Ghana will end in February 2013 after agreeing a two-year deal last year but the FA felt enough was enough. The Serbian led Ghana to finish fourth at the just ended Cup of Nations finals.

He played 17 matches; won nine, four draws and four defeats.

Peacefmonline can confirm that Goran, after several delibrations with officials of the FA rejected a 200,000 euro compensation and is demanding in excess of 300,000 euros before he packs out of the country.

Another meeting has been scheduled for Friday to decide on how much the coach will be given by the GFA.

However, Zoran Andic, lawyer for the coach has written to FIFA, because Vice President of the GFA, Jordan Anagblah reportedly stated that Plavi's safety cannot be guaranteed since his contract has been terminated.

Below is a copy of the letter sent to FIFA.
