Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Mahamudu Bawumia has commended Wembley Sports Complex for building astro turf pitches across the country.
The Veep lauded the good works by the Sports Complex during the just ended National Delegates Conference of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
“The state of Sports stadia in the country show how NPP party is fully committed to developing Sports infrastructure in the country”, he said.
According to Vice President Bawumia, the Akufo-Addo government is fully committed in upgrading and building more ultramodern stadiums to unearth talents in Ghana, especially in various Zongo communities.
“Through the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Inner City and Zongo Development, many modern mini-stadia are been built across the country.
Under the Zongo development funds, we have mini-stadia and astro-turfs in places like Madina, Kyebi, Walewale, New Fadaman and so on.
All this mini-stadia are under the construction of Wembley Sports Complex and support by the Sports Ministry, government has embarked on building ten multi-purpose youth centres across Ghana, which was supposed to be completed by the middle of 2019”, Veep added.
