President of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi has disclosed that Baba Rahman who has been ruled out of the ongoing AFCON tournament will be sitting out for about seven months.
According to the GFA boss, Baba’s injury is a career threating one that can end his football talent but further checks reveal he will be back to play after the scheduled months.
“Baba Rahman’s injury is a career threating one and he could be out for the rest his career. He’s going to be out for about seven months. A dangerous one for that matter,” Nyantakyi said.
Baba injured himself in Ghana’s opener against the Cranes of Uganda and his place has since been taken by Anderlecht player, Franck Acheampong who will maintain that position in Wednesday’s final Group D match against Egypt in Port Gentil.
Ghana need a draw against the Pharaohs to finish as Group winners but defeat will see them emerge as runners-up.

SPEEDY RECOVERY! BABA
Koo,keep quiet. Comot for there! Who told you football players are dying for the nation? You don't understand yourself. Look, it's their job. Every risky job pays well. We only say that to support and to show appreciation of their efforts that make us happy. But in actual they are playing bcos they want to make Ghana people happy. They are doing their job. Have you thought of the risk of policemen, doctors, teachers etc. Everyone is serving the nation, including you, koo. Comot for there. Anyway, speedy recovery, Baba, God is in control.
This is one reason why players for the national teams need to paid what they think is appropriate to them. This seven months, let's see how the GFA, the Sport Ministry and the country as a whole are going to stand for this boy who risked his life to bring honor to the country. We are hoping and talking about winning the cup. That is all we care for and not those who actually made it happen. We will be waiting for Chelsea or his German team to take care of him and just imagine the pain he has to go through and the possibility of never playing again and never earning any income for the rest of his life if not by God's grace. Kwadwo Asamoah took the right decision not to play for such an uncaring country.
God is with you.
We wish him speedy recovery. Ghana behind him
Why did u allow the lad to continue playing when he got the first injury? He should have been substituted earlier to avoid further damaged. Was he wrongly assessed, did he want to carry playing although something was clearly wrong and damaged ? We need answers from the technical handlers .
