Karela United FC coach Johnson Smith has vehemently discarded reports linking 'old man' Bernard Dong Bortey to his team.
Smith and the ex-Hearts of Oak striker were seen chatting after Wednesday's Ghana Premier League big win.
That fueled talk of Bortey signing for the newcomers, but Smith has quickly denied that.
"I don't need old man Dong Bortey in my team. Why should I add old players to my youthful side?,'' Smith said on Aseda FM.
''He came and greet me after Wednesday's game with Hearts of Oak at CAM Park.
''I don't need him for anything."
Karela have won their last three matches and are now second on the table but tied on points with leaders AshantiGold who have played one match less.
