Emmanuel Bamford, uncle of the late Major Maxwell Mahama, has appealed to the state to name the Tema roundabout after the lynched soldier, as a way of honouring him.
He told Joy News’ Latif Iddris during the vigil for the late military man on Thursday June 8: “I have spoken to the elders of the family and everybody agrees with it.”
Mahama was lynched by irate youth of Denkyira Obuasi on suspicion that he was an armed robber, after a snail seller informed the assemblyman of the area that the soldier was an armed robber, having seen the sidearm of the now deceased officer as he took money from his pocket to pay for snails he had bought from her.
About 42 suspects have been arraigned before court over the incident.
Major Mahama was buried on Friday June 9 at the Military cemetery in Accra.

Ebei, now you're going too far.
Please the whole of Ghana really share in your grief, but don't allow such an unrealistic demand erode the goodwill of the people. This is simply anñoying to say the least....May the soul of Major Maxwell Adam Mahama Rest In Perfect Peace!
You think this Mahama soldier is better than the soldiers who die protecting our country on the battle field..?? Asking for a roundabout to be named after him is unacceptable and we will organize a demonstration to resist any attempt by anybody who tries doing so...He has been given a state burial and a fund setup in his name..ENOUGH! He is not the only citizen who has lost his life in uniform.
In as much as we all share in your grief, personally, I don't think it's for you to determine where or how your prince is honoured. Don't twist the arms of government.
why? I guess this is going overboard. Many people have been lynched one that come to mind was the VALCO worker who was lynched because was see to have lost his private part which was not true. Its painful but lets be realistic. AAba
