The general outcry against the salary of the former head of the Ghana Cocoa Board which many Ghanaians considered outrageous, the changes are not that significant.
The new Board Chairman of Ghana's premier cocoa marketing and processing board, Hackman Owusu Agyemang has revealed that even after the cut, the current CEO's salary is on the high side.
The new Chief Executive Officer of the company, Joseph Boahen Aidoo, will reportedly be paid more than the president of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo.
This represent a 50% slash in the CEO's salary.
The slash in salary was instituted after former CEO, Dr. Stephen Opuni's GHS70,000 monthly salary got public.
Hackman told journalist, Ibrahim Alhassan that, even after "Reducing it to what we thought for the time being we should reduce it to, that still make the Chief Executive’s [salary] more than twice that of the president".
President Nana Addo takes home a monthly salary of GHS22,000 and if Hackman Owusu Agyemang's words are to go by, Joseph Boahen Aidoo, will take home more than GHS44,000.

Why the attention on COCOBOD? Does anyone know how much the Chief Executives of TOR, BOST and all the other big public establishments are taking? I'll bet their all at par with COCOBOD, if not slightly lower. Sadly upon all the big incentives, most are still involved in backroom under table dealings, milking our poor nation dry. But guess what, nothing lasts forever!
if there is a fifty percent knocked off 70,000 that then leaves the CEO's salary as 35,000. But for Hackman to go ahead to say that what he CEO takes (which is supposed to be 35,000) is a double of 22,000(44,000) is to contradict himself. obviously one is true, and the other is false. By the way, if someone raises credible questions about what our public officials say, please dont let us be too quick to attack them. It is such repugnant attitude by we Ghanaians that have led us to where we are today. being ruled by politicians who think they can throw anything in the public domain, and expect us to swallow it without asking any questions
is 44,000 not better than opuni's 70,000 do u know what the remaining 27,000 can be used for to the development of the country.
Is GHS 44,000.00 half of GHS 70,000.00?
