Evelyn Boakye, the Ghanaian kitchen staff of Marwako Fast Foods Limited whose face was allegedly dipped into a paste of blended pepper by her supervisor Jihad Chaaban, has opted for an out-of-court settlement.
An agreement for amicable settlement reached between the two parties compelled the Abeka District Court to adjourn its judgment on the matter when the case was called on Wednesday, 26 July.
The two parties have been given up to Wednesday, 2 August to return to court for the judgment.
Magistrate Victoria Ghansah said she got notice of the out-of-court settlement on Monday, July 24 and so would want to settle the details before delivering her judgment.

No story has broken me down than this one. Really? Evelyn? Is that how you disgrace some of us after we champion your course. You let money buy your conscience and justice? I will not forgive you Evelyn, but I forgive you.
Blacks are a miserable species. In our own backward? These arabs do not even regard us as human. We will forever be at the bottom of every society world wide till kingdom comes.
Ghana money, plenty people chop dey run away.
Out of court here means what? The judgement should include monetary compensation for bodily harm as well as prison sentence for the culprit. We need to set a precedence with these foreigners who think they can come into our country and abuse us and use our own money to pay off their crimes! Custodial sentence must be given to send a message to would-be culprits! In addition he must pay the victim for causing bodily harm! We are sick of been bullied in our own country!
It is not unusual if the victim would be adequately compensated to agree to settle. After all the criminal case against the attacker could lead to only a fine for the attacker. The possible civil case could take a long time to settle so if they are offering some compensation, fair enough, she should take it. The management of the restaurant should however get the guy out of the country in their own interest.
very sad, l don't blame you, she is need of money. That why the Chinese are calling us "bluff" because our laws don't favour us
This is a more reason why Ghanaians do not have to worry themselves about people like these. Instead of allowing the law to go ahead and punish them you opt for out of court settlement. What do you think you have made of all these people who were crying for your safety?
eeei young lady what money have they use to buy ur conscience for u to opt out of court settlement........ think wise before u act cos no amout of money can give u 100% healing so lets the law work so that u dont go and come and blame the government in future that justice wasnt served when it was ur own decision to opt out.
Hmmmmm
