Audio Attachment: Listen to Kweku Baako Jnr. |
Abdul Malik Kweku Baako has jumped to the defence of the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Mrs. Charlotte Osei; claiming she's being made a "target of scrutiny".
Kweku Baako, commenting on the issue on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', called for thorough investigations into the EC allegations but however would not fault Mrs. Charlotte Osei for responding to the allegations for the basis of her impeachment.
According to him, it was right for the EC Boss to have responded to the EOCO queries (same as the petition forwarded to the President) and set the records straight.
He opined that if Madam Osei had refused or failed to respond to the EOCO queries on the accusations by some concerned staff of the Commission who had also petitioned President Akufo-Addo and the Chief Justice to impeach her, the same public castigating her now, would have quizzed why her loud silence on the issues raised.
Kweku Baako explained that the critics lambasting Mrs. Charlotte Osei for making certain revelations through her responses on the issue were the same people who had believed the claims by the EC staff against her.
To him, the critics thought Mrs. Charlotte Osei is a "woman made of steel. She is an iron. There’s no blood flowing through her, so she should remain silent whilst those saying she should have been silent, they themselves were out there discussing. And when you listen to some of them in terms of their tone, they have believed the allegations. They’ve found the woman guilty already.”
Mr. Baako stressed that he is "on the side of Charlotte. Yes but fortunately, for all of us; I am not the final arbiter. That’s why I’m saying there should be investigations and verification. I am nobody. I cannot actually determine the outcome . . . I’m not a coward. I’m on her side.”

KwaKu I think you got it wrong this time, I don't if it because you are related that why you are talking like this.Nobody said Charlotte Osei should not respond but the kind of revelation she made incriminate her.I think the things she said has damage her office.I must say I was disappointed with her response.
Until the investigations are completed, I cannot say that she is corrupt; in fact I have little reason so far to believe she is corrupt. However, it is clear to me (an I believe I'm not alone in this viewT that we are where we are now because of Charlotte's attitude and leadership style. Arrogance pay nie!
So Charlotte Osei leaked favorable documents to Kweku Baako so he can side with her. Well Mr Baako is putting his reputation on the line for his cousin... we will see how this turns out. As for me I don't trust the woman and will never trust the results of any election she presides over.
Remove Charlotte's name from the allegation and replace it with Rawlings' name and Mr. Baako's analysis will change. What is wrong is wrong and we should be able to condemn it irrespective of who is involved. Look the EC is a very sensitive institution and we need people of the highest ethical principles. Are Charlotte Osei and co the only people who can manage the place? Can't we find a principled Ghanaian woman to manage the EC? Can any Ghanaian honestly say that he/she is comfortable with Charlotte and her team managing our elections in year 2020? Let's be serious for once!
Well you advise she should have been silent and open her arsenals at the appropriate time. But come to think of it, if you critically look at the situation and answers she was given at parliament today, it is clear she felt very betrayed when she as the leader of her team, trying to protect her team from public ridicule will be betrayed by the very people she was protecting!!! Let us not crucify the woman just yet... Yes she might have signed that contract with going through PPP act..... All along nothing shows she did anything which inures to her benefit. So as human as she is, she felt betrayed hence the bursting out. If we all hold our fire and allow investigations to be carried out, the truth will obviously come out. Moreover, for her to have been brought to head them whiles they were already in the systems, worse of it a woman.......trust me, there is more to the whole thing. Why are the 2 deputies not accusing themselves too?
You don't have any fact, neither do you have any documents, yet you go about insulting and accusing Kweku Baako, who has the facts and information and all documents. On what basis are you accusing Kweku Baako? Shame on those you insults Kweku Baako.
Kwaku is a true disciple of Lawyer Joe Debra who has jumped into the defence of EC Boss because of their relationship
your modda!! kwaku baako
