New Patriotic Party (NPP) youth group in the Volta Region has reiterated the call on the Party to lift its suspension on Mr Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, the Party’s elected General Secretary to stop activities of vigilante groups affiliated with the NPP.
They said Mr Agyepong has the clout and connections with the grassroots of the Party to stop acts of vandalism and attacks on public officials by some youth groups in the Party.
The group at a press conference in Ho said the continuous suspension of Mr Agyepong was affecting the future of the Party and appealed to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to intervene as the “Father for all” and bring finality to the matter.
Mr Roland Kaykay Fiakpi, convener of the group said reinstating Mr Agyepong would be in the greater interest of the unity and cohesiveness of the Party “in the spirit of fairness and natural justice.”
He said Mr Agyepong smoothly managed and supervised presidential and parliamentary primaries across the country, which contributed greatly to the Party’s victory at the 2016 polls and that it was not true the elections were won without him, because “election is a process, not an event.”
Mr Fiakpi said Mr Agyepong’s conduct whilst in suspension had been exemplary, so his continuous suspension portrayed a “deliberate intention to subvert the will of the Tamale Congress.”
He alleged that the Party promised to reinstate Mr Agyepong six months after the 2016 general elections and asked the authorities not to further delay the lifting of his suspension, ten months after the elections.
NPP youth groups in Ashanti, Brong Ahafo, Greater Accra and Northern regions have made similar appeals to the National Council of the Party.

well kwabena you are even lucky to a professional.when one door is closed another is opened why don't you go back and practice your civil work. The GOOD LORD knows better
NPP across the country Ghana will ACCEPT even NDC General Secretary into NPP easier than accepting Kwabena. Because the latter has lost his trust in the party as at now
from what the Volta Region NPP supporters are saying means, Kwabena is behind all the vigilantism going on now. If he has the NPP Party at heart, he would NOT have been indulge himself into what caused his suspension. He is still affiliated to NDC. No matter what. He is now pretending of being good cicizan to NPP. Those talking for him should REMEMBER his actions after he was elected General Secretary. He grew TOO MANY feathers and forgotten himself.
if wishes were horses ........ We would have still been in opposition languishing. This youth should stop fighting the wind.
could we be told the crime of kwabena Agyapong? we kept quiet because we didn't want to destroy the chances of the party in 2016. some are saying we worked hard to win without him or others. one thing we should know is that division in party in power is more dangerous than that of a party in opposition that's why ndc lost in 2016. we should also know that most of the NDC members also didn't vote (esp in the Volta region) and it affected them. this can of we are in charge and ll sideline certain people ll not work again for npp. wontumi said he spoke as regional chairman, he should know that he doesn't represent everybody in reality. if he likes he should open a referendum on this issue and see if he ll win. he always annoy us when he speak in this way in such issues.
Could this mean or suggest that he’s behind all the anarchy by the so called vigilantes, just to enable him make a come back? Just wondering.....
He is indiscipline himself
Kwabena has nothing to offer Ghana. NPP is better off without Kwabena, that is the truth. Kwabena can not stop anything negative. He does not deserve to be called back to the party. period.
Kwabena its over accept defeat and go and look for planting for food. Politics and u don't agree u have approving yourself over and over again that Npp executive made the right decision getting rid of you. My friend forget politics
This clearly shows that no one is bigger than the party which gives one the opportunity to serve. When we are elected or appointed it is to serve and not lord it over people as if the party is our personal property. Party officials should learn useful lessons from this.
