CPP Stalwart, James Kwabena Bomfeh has descended heavily on President Nana Akufo-Addo and his government over their decision to establish a National Cathedral in the country.
The President on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 unveiled an architectural design for the construction of a national cathedral.
It will sit around a 14-acre garden and have chapels, a baptistery, a music school, an art gallery, a Bible Museum and Documentation Centre - It is expected to seat 5,000 people in its main auditorium.
But to have the cathedral is to evict some judges from the residences and demolish other properties since government wants it to lie in a busy place as Ridge in Accra.
James Kwabena Bomfeh, popularly called Kabila, expressed his resentments about the project on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo on Monday.
According to him, it is of no use for the government to establish a cathedral for nation when there are other pressing needs of Ghanaians which have not yet been met.
He noted that using national resources and demolishing properties, all in the name of a cathedral, is nothing but a misplaced priority.
Kabila therefore went all spiritual, sermonizing the government to stop their pursuit to construct such religious edifice.
“I’m on good terms with the President. I hate him not and I will not hate anybody for that matter…The life I’ve lived on this earth hasn’t been a perfect one. I have faults and that’s why daily I run to Christ to cleanse me…The biggest church that we have to build for God is our own human body. Are we truthful? Do we have love? Do we have fear for God? What is our development for the human race? For me, those are the key ingredients that will go into building a true temple for God in honor of His Word,” he said.

kabia needs to be advice on how to speak on issues
I don't understand this Kabila because since when did you realize that it is wrong for government to support religious body. Have you consider how long Islam have been supported and why now? Is it because now it's Christian. Without any reservations, I can say kabila is anti Christian and is mad in his thinking. ***barred word*** ***barred word***
@Patapaa, when the Missions were building the schools and hospitals, all tables in Ghana had food on them. As if the cathedral is not built, all tables will have food. Ghanaians fear Islam. When its something for Islam, they will not complain. The cathedral will be built and you can stop living!!!
Are we going to eat cathedrals? We want food on our tables not cathedrals. If you listen to govt officials defending the cathedral, to me it seems is more of being tourist centre than a solemn place of worship.
Kabila, we will never finish solving all our problems before we can build a cathedral. Even the very poor in Ghana organise birthday parties for their dear children even though they don't have enough money. In the Bible, a lady honoured Jesus by breaking a bottle of expensive oil on his feet. Immediately, a Kabila of that time told Jesus to rebuke the woman for not giving the money to the poor. Jesus replied that the honour was well deserving for we will always have the poor among us. When we confirm the site for the cathedral from the govt, Christians in Ghana who care and are willing will contribute cash to finance the project. It will be done by the Grace of God.
Satan will fail and it shall be build
This drunkard called Kabila paaa, probably he is drunk.
SO KABILAH WHY DONT YOU TALK ABOUT THE HAJJ VILLAGE PUT UP AT AIRPORT FOR MUSLIMS. WHY NOT TALK ABOUT THE DONATIONS FROM GOVT TO MUSLIMS DURING IDUL FLR CELEBTATIONS. WHY NOT TALK ABOUT THE ASSISTANCE GOVT GIVES MUSLIMS TO TRAVEL ON CHEAP FLIGHT TO MECCA.YOU ONLY TALK ABOUT A CHURCH BEING BULIT FOR CHRISTIAN WORSHIP. REALLY
Kabila, tell me how many bungalows were pulled down before the State House was built? Today we all find the State House as an ideal state property but it did not come up just like that. Go and ask your CPP elders. If the CPP with Nkrumah in control by now you will be at Nsawan prison by now without recourse to anybody. I blame all these loose talk on the 1966 coup.
If someone like Kabila will even hate on the President, we don't care, because he's miniature in the affairs of Ghana. He's nothing but white elephant just like his party that has no vision and path. Fact is, govt of Ghana is not the financier of the project; the various churches agreed into this cathedral building are the financiers. I have looked carefully at the benefits and the facilities to be included in this edifice, the eventual beneficiaries will be massive, ranging from cleaners, security officers, administrators, Managers, directors, drivers, teachers, cathedral assistants etc
