The Ghana Police Service Public Relations officer, ACP David Eklu has stated that the Saturday 2nd February date for Nana Appiah Mensah’s court appearance in Dubai as revealed in the joint Police/EOCO press statement could be a typing error.
Speaking to Starr FM, ACP David Eklu explained that, the date could be an error since it happens to fall on Saturday. However, he explained that it could also be a special court set for the weekend
ACP David Eklu affirmed that Nana Appiah Mensah aka NAM1 will definitely be in court in February and added he does not see any big deal with the date being correct or not.
“We understand February 2 is a weekend….I am not too sure about the situation in Dubai. In certain cases, the court may hold a sitting on weekend. But that does not negate the fact that he will be going to court in February,” ACP Eklu told our sister media Starr.
“In typing on the calendar, you can even get the date wrong. You might think that Friday is February 2. So to me, it is not a significant thing. It can be a typo error, it can be an error, and it can be true that the court has the arrangement to sit on Saturday,” he added.
After the government powered delegation to Dubai to extradite the embattled millionaire, Nana Appiah Mensah to face charges in Ghana came back empty-handed, they release a statement to explain why NAM1 was not brought back.
According to the statement, NAM1 was to face Dubai court on 2nd February. The result of the proceedings will determine if NAM1 will be released to Ghanaian authorities or not.
”It is the understanding of the Ghanaian delegation that Mr. Mensah faces misdemeanor charges in the UAE and will be made available to Ghana upon the final determination of his current case in the UAE. His case is next due for court on February 2, 2019”. the statement read.
However, it turned out 2nd February is Saturday and many Ghanaians have accused the government of making up the lies to protect Nana Appiah Mensah, CEO of Menzgold.

I won't campaign or vote for Nana Addo again, if he pays you GREEDY ppl with our tax money. Read ur Bible and stop being greedy...
Simple the npp governments want do ghanaians mugu. Nam1 in in Ghana and the government is trying to hide him, because npp is complicit in the deal
what prevents the police administration from cross checking, stop embarrassing yourselves. in Dubai the only day they don't go to work is Friday, Saturdays and Sundays are all working days
Those greedy investors shd forget their monies. We are now dealing with serious issues. NDC and Anas are trying to be diabolic and we have to handle them. In fact NAM1 was never arrested in any Dubai, he just went there to avoid being killed. You can take your issue to Obinim to help you bring him back to Ghana. Some of you even said you have shrines in your homes so what is your problem? Those gods are impotent? Enough of this NAM1 issue.
You prolly a ***barred word*** also if you believe nam1 is in dubai , trust me dude is right here in Ghana hiding someone with the help of the NPP government all coz of the disgrace which will befall the party should he come out now and start telling the truth . abi u know dada it's all mind games till Ghanaians forget then they will start something fresh . i don't do politics but let's be str8 ever since npp came to power its from one yawa to the other all coz of the juju things and high loans they took for campaign .
Ok we will forgive them
This mistake is unpardonable. The delegation that traveled to Dubai went there for what purpose? Somebody must go home Mr. Prez.
In many of the Gulf countries, the weekends fall on Thursday and Friday. Christians go to church on Fridays, and all go to work from Saturday to Wednesday. Some of the Gulf countries have sought to change their weekend to Friday-Saturday to be half-way in line with most of the international community.
They have already collected their per diem and TNT for the Dubai trip that's all the interest.
