Political Science Lecturer at the University of Ghana, Legon, Dr. Isaac Owusu Mensah, has stated that some targets set by some Ghanaian politicians were not realistic as the country gears toward the 2016 general elections.
Dr. Owusu Mensah speaking in an interview with Kwabena Obeng Akrofi on Ark FM in Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Region yesterday outlined three ways which a political
party can use to win elections.
“There are three issues if you want to win elections: You have to strengthen your strongholds, make sure you get maximum votes from your strongholds and make sure you reduce your opponent’s strongholds,” he divulged.
He further stated that winning elections may not come on a silver platter. According to him, there are so many works which are needed to be in place to ensure someone’s victory.
Dr. Owusu Mensah disclosed that the Ghanaian electorate are becoming more enlightened—so many of them will vote based on issues and track records of the various political parties.

No co-equal against JM.This man de work for Ghana.JMToaso.
JMToaso bam.
HE WILL FROM STEALING
I DISAGREE WITH DOC. ELECTION IN PARTICULAR GHANA IS STILL BASED ON POPULISM. THIS CAN BE ACHIEVED THROUGH TARGETS AND FOR THAT MATTER AMBITIOUS TARGETS. IT IS A RALLYING CALL FOR PARTY ACTIVISTS AND A SOURCE OF MOTIVATION. THEY MAY NOT ACHIEVE THE 50% MARK BUT THE CONSISTENCY, AMBITION, MOTIVATION AND THE DRIVE IT BRINGS WILL BE HELPFUL.
When will NDC stop their block headedness is that how we spell chem? they should realize in the twi alphabets there is nothing like this "C" in it. The correct spelling is "KYEM" They should consult and learn stop their Tiwii. NDC fo) abon k3k3.
It is because of these people that the NPP will always lose elections in this country. You either twist the facts or blatantly lie to paint the NPP good. But ordinary people also know what is going on. If I've to spend 70 GH on water every 2 weeks and I now have water running through my tap which I didn't experience when NPP was in power and they now turn around promising heaven when I know they got the opportunity and blew it, why would I waste my time to listen to them? I will listen to the one who provided me because I know, given the opportunity he could do more. A good turn, deserve another. Lecturer, you can still trumpet the NPP, but it is noise in people's ears.
I like what you say, I have eyes and can see. 1. Where is the 200 free shs schoold he promised 2. Where is the one time NHIS we promised Ghanains. 3. Where is the setting up of other teacher training schools we promised Ghanaian. 4. Where is Woyome 51 million money we paid to him. 5. Where is the monies we ndc gave to info, suba and other corrupt activities. 6. where is the teacher and nursing training allowance. I will have list all but hmmm. I have two young siblings, who are in nursing and teacher training schools. I have to struggle to pay their fees. I am a teacher myself. I completed WESCO in 2001. Kabila is my mate. We were able to complete because we lived on allowance from government. Now all this burden is on me because the fees is high. Ahaaaa, I have already sponsored a neice who has completed nursing for the past 3 years and has not been employed because there is a freeze on government employments.
Thats why we will vote JM. He has done more than enough. Those who have eyes can see and those who pretend not to see its their own business
