Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr. says President Nana Akufo-Addo's list of Ministers is as a result of enormous pressure mounted on him by his party members.
According to him, the President has been pressured to appoint 110 Ministers in order to apparently appease people.
To Kwesi Pratt, the people circling around the President are not telling him the truth and if they don't stop singing his praises; he will not be any different from other Presidents.
He advised government officials to stop being sycophantic and hypocritical and help President Akufo-Addo to make right decisions.
“Help him and tell him the truth because if you don’t tell him the truth, he will not become different from any other President . . . So, we should stop the praise-singing and hypocrisy. The President, himself, has told us that he knows that coming into government, he will be criticized and there’s an opportunity for that. The President, himself, has come out to say this; still praise-singing, sycophancy. Why?”
Analyzing the President's logic, Mr. Pratt alluded to the erstwhile Nkrumah regime disclosing that in the entire 9-year rule by Ghana’s first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah; he never had a list of Ministers as Nana Addo's government.
Yet, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah was able to deliver and undertake several significant developmental projects just with a smaller fraction of Ministers; he added.
To him, the President's justification for appointing 110 Ministers together with their deputies is unfounded.
“If we need lots of Ministers to undertake developmental projects, then Kwame Nkrumah would have got about 6000 Ministers. If we need numerous Ministers to work for progress, Kwame Nkrumah would have taken 6000 Ministers. Because there’s no doubt that when it comes to development, 9 years that he became President; the number of developmental projects he did, 9 years and no one has come close. But he had the lowest number of Ministers – 44,” he said.

This Kwasi Pratt is Id-iot and has no se--nse . he thinks he has a big month and can make noise the down fall of Ghana partly belongs to Nkrumah
Clearly , there is no doubt about it, Nkrumah was dynamic, intellectually Sound and could access our political situation at the time.He articulated this circumstance emotionally, appeallingly and conviningly in a very arousing manner as per his rhetoric excellence. But he was too ambitious and not diplomatic and so he created unnecessary enemies for his Course. He sidelined those who could help him and surrounded himself with those who would only say to hm yeah, yeah, all at the cost of his overambition and that was the Price he grievously paid for his failure.Failure, in terms of developing Ghana like our Peers: Singapore, China, South Korea and Malaysia.
Ghanaians should stop being hypocrites. If we are talking of population visa vie appointment of Ministers, the the comparison should be against countries with more population and less Ministers and that of Ghana. Not population from 1957 and now. We must be fair to ourselves as a nation. What is BAD is BAD no matter who is perpetuating it .
You see, look how you are disgracing yourself. Let me set the records straight. At independence Ghana's population was 6 million. If we do a very simple mathematics: if 44 ministers = 6 million people, "ceterius paribus" "all things being equal" how many ministers should 24 million people have, if Nkrumah is in power. Mr. Pratt?, you sometimes do not come to me as a very sharp person, but probably time and space has made you a journalist, let alone contribute on Radio. Now, you can talk to the ***barred word*** but not some of us. Nobody, I said Nobody should discount the impact and contribution of Kwame Nkrumah in our political dispensation, but let us sometimes set the records straight. I respect Nkrumah for saying "INDEPENDENCE NOW", but what happened subsequently is not all "KOSHER" for him. Remember, the power he wielded at the time, HE COULD HAVE DONE MORE, MR.PRATT. Let me list his powers for you: He was the Head of State He was the Prime Minister, compared to the UK He wielded the power of the Queen in the UK He was the Governor General He had the power to dish out our money to foreign countries without going through parliament. In actual fact he can decided to take your wife by any LI of his choice. What it means was that, he could had done MORE than what we see today. Please kindly for once SH0T UP. OKAY!
KWESI "LOUD MOUTH" PRATT, BE HONEST TO YOURSELF AND COUNTRY BY AGREEING THAT YOUR GOD / SHOW BOY KWAME NKRUMAH NEVER INHERITED A MESS OF THIS MAGNITUDE WHEN GHANA WAS HANDED OVER TO HIM ON A SILVER /GOLD PLATTER. BY ALL HISTORICAL ACCOUNTS, NKRUMAH DIDN'T START GOVERNING GHANA WITH SUCH MASSIVE DEBT AND LOOTED TREASURY. IF FORMER PRESIDENTS / PRIME MINISTERS AND INCLUDING MILITARY LEADERS SUCH AS ANKRAH & AFRIFA, KUTU ACHEAMPONG, K.A. BUSIA, JOHN KUFFUOR AND CURRENT PRESIDENT NANA ADDO WERE BEQUEATHED SUCH AMOUNT OF CASH AND RESOURCES THAT NKRUMAH HAD, THEY COULD HAVE DONE EQUALLY WELL. I'M NOT UNDERESTIMATING NKRUMAH'S ACHIEVEMENTS BUT STOP YOUR BASELESS AND FACTLESS CONDEMNATION AND FOR GOODNESS SAKE GIVE NANA A CHANCE. THE TASK AHEAD DOESN'T REQUIRE SOLVING IT WITH A SHOVEL WHEN YOU HAVE A BULDOZER AT YOUR DISPOSAL. YOU ARE A PART OF MAHAMA'S MESS AND CAN NEVER RID YOURSELF OF BLAME. THE SEVERAL THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS THAT WERE HANDED OVER TO YOU AND ***barred word***-KISSERS/CON ARTIST LIKE AKUA DONKOR FOR NO JOB DONE COULD HAVE BEEN USED TO BUILD SOME OF THE CRUMBLING 40 YEARS AGO PRIMARY SCHOOLS AROUND THE COUNTRY. YOUR SHARE OF THE LOOTED STATE FUNDS COULD HAVE BEEN USED TO PURCHASE CARS FOR THE POLICE TO FIGHT THE ARMED ROBBERY /LAND GUARDS/ GALAMSEY MENACE THAT HAS RENDERED GHANA UNGOVERNABLE AND CHAOTIC. KWESI PRATT, YOU ARE BY FAR THE MOST DANGEROUS PERSON GHANA HAS COME ACROSS WHO IS HIDING BEHIND THE PEN FRATERNITY. YOUR DAY WILL SOON COME!!!!!!!
Uncle Pratt, can you equate the population of Ghana, the state of affairs and the demands then, to our current times ?
when it become necessary to increase the number of his appointees Nana will do that. you have the right to criticize the President but dont forget that the president has the right to choose ant number of ministers he like
Uncle Pratt, if you had used the same venom in you to criticise John Mahama may be he would have listened to you. Please note that the population of Ghana was very low during Nkrumah's time and moreover the British had left so much money for us to use. Again, the complexity of problems today far exceeds that of Nkrumah's days. In Nkrumah's days we did not have galamsey, mountains of rubbish in our cities, slums like Agbogbloshie, teenage pregnancy, Fulani herdsmen, massive governmental corruption like Woyomaygate from which Kwesi Pratt benefitted, high unemployment, child trafficking, Police recruitment scandals, destruction of the environment etc, etc, etc teenageprega
Mr. Pratt you are not making any sense here. Even a class one pupil will not make such a weak analysis. Comparing Nkrumah's government as far back as 1957 to Akufu Addo's government in 2017 where the dynamics are not the same is worst arguments you have made. We love Nkrumah but you people are making it difficult for others to love him too. Stop this non sense. Kwasi
Mr Pratti, what you said about Nana Addo in wikki leaks is fresh on our minds, did British government left any debt when Nkrumah took over,Did he take us to heaven, in as much as we revered him as our first President, he had his shortcomings, and that is the reason why his legacy has totally collapsed, but rather his compatriot he jailed to death, has his property still intact, the likes of you are the reason why Nkrumah's party cannot resurrect, NPP is not in government not to please nation wreckeeers like you, May the blood of Mawuli Goka and all those you aided to be killed be upon ur head, grasshopper vampiiire teeth
