A number of delegates for the just-ended National Democratic Congress parliamentary primaries in the Afram Plains South Constituency of the Eastern Region are furious over failure by the incumbent Member of Parliament for the area, Eric Osei Owusu, to share 500 pieces of 32-inch television sets promised them.
The MP brought the 500 brand new flat screen television sets to the Maame Krobo Community Day Senior High School where he camped close to five hundred delegates eve to the election and asked to swear an oath to commit their votes for him in exchange of the TV sets.
Though some of the delegates angrily rejected the offer due to the attached condition of swearing of an oath, others agreed and voted for the MP.
However, the MP failed to release the items to the delegates after losing to Joseph Appiah Boateng who polled 352 votes as against 260 votes he secured.
Some of the disappointed delegates said “he told us to swear that we will vote for him so that he gives us the TV but after the election he said he didn’t win so he won’t give it to us but my brother some of us voted for him so we are disappointed that the MP did this to us. Everybody is angry".

You and the MP should be ashamed of yourselves! If an MP knows he has fulfilled the mandate given him, why would he go buying TV sets to bribe people? You too confirming voting for him too, you are more.... than the MP....They will continue to misbehave always knowing how electorates lack reasoning..... We should make it a habit to ensure whoever, bribes his way to be voted for, is rather voted against and all these "square pegs in round holes will end......Anigwase fuor......
Have you not sold your conscience! And they are not even ashamed to talk about it. He was buying your votes so he can win. How was he going to pay back? Steal from you! He is sending the TV'S back to tell you how ***barred word*** you've been!
Did the NDC MP promise to give out the TV if only he was declared the winner? Or, was it just a vote and you were entitled to TV? What was exactly the promise?
You are even not ashamed to admit you voted for him in expectation of a 32" TV! So this is now how politics is played and MPs(Representative of the People) are elected? Ghana is finished! People can actually sell their birth right which should be exercised without fear or inducements for a mere TV? How did we get here? This is absolutely disgusting to say the least. Those delegates are just as corrupt and hare-brained as the candidates they vote to represent them! Ghana must unite to kick NDC/NPP out or else we are literally sinking in corruption and sooner than later we will all choke to death by the canker of corruption! The time to act is now! Are there not any few decent Ghanaians remaining whose consciences are not brainwashed. My call is to those to galvanize to save this country!
so you voted for someone because he promised you TV sets? no wonder you will continue to be in the state in which you are in life.
