"I have been doing a lot to support my children which I’m required to do by law and as you know here in the foreign land, I have to comply with whatever I am directed to do and until all that is sorted out, I have to do what I have to do and then I will return to my duties as a member of parliament and as a minister of state,” says Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo.
In an interview on JoyNews’ The Pulse on Thursday, the Gender Minister who has been severely criticized especially by her colleagues in Parliament and in the New Patriotic Party for her absence says she has not abandoned her duties.
"I will be returning definitely to serve my people… As you know, my son is unwell and has to transition to school, so I have to ensure that all that is settled before I can resume my duties and that is exactly what I am doing.
Definitely, I will return. As you know my son has been unwell that is why I have to come here to the United States to be the best mother I could be and I’m still here making sure that all that is settled with my son and all the authorities and the school and it’s still ongoing…" she added.

Guess the best option will be resignation, so if taking care of your son (family) will take years, we Ghanaians so still wait for you? NO pls A competent person should take over wai,are you the only mother who is a minister? NO Afraid of loosing all the cash and privileges you get as a minister of state, greediness
Just resign and take care of family business if that is more important to you. Don’t let politics blind-fold you. After all, you were living a decent life prior to becoming a politician. Don’t be greedy, ma’am!
I sympathise with you as a parent myself but I disagree with your insistence on still being a minister of state. I think you should resign as a minister of state to concentrate on your child’s illness at the moment. This is just my humble opinion and advice.
