Member of Parliament for Juaboso Constituency, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh has described President Nana Akufo-Addo’s proposal to set aside a new day to mark the country's Founders’ Day as "needless".
President Nana Akufo-Addo has decided to propose legislation to Parliament to designate 4th August as Founders’ Day and 21st September as Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Day, both of which will be observed as public holidays.
But the NDC MP, speaking on UTV's Adekye Nsroma stated; “this initiative need not stray us away from pressing issues affecting us as a state that needs to be tackled. We have gone too far to revisit this subject . . . In my humble opinion I believe this intention when realized will not serve its purpose, but will rather cause a disarray in our bid to revive our spirit of nationalism”.
“I don’t doubt the fact that we need to give reverence to our history, moral and cultural values, yet it will not be important wasting much time in doing that as is being observed now.”
This move by this current government, I know, is their intended agenda years back to show that Nkrumah is not the founder of this nation, contrary to what we have all known to be the truth," he added.

When Parliamentary approval is received and it become a statutory public holiday, you can decide not to observe it.
This Nana Akufo-Addo Government is treading on a divisive path with the intent of pleasing his Cohorts. This country called Ghana was not named by the "big Six" so there's no need for setting aside a day for the other frolickers and saboteurs who opposed the good intents of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah during the struggle to secure the independence of Ghana.
Akando is not ashamed that his father is athief?? your father stole fertilizer meant for farmers and took it ivory coast to selland was apprehended. please dont forget that you are astealers son kweasealike you. its only I Ghana that politics is cheep for every washermans donkey to jump in on it to ***barred word*** around ***barred word*** beast.
When did Akando's area became a district to have a constituency? Somebody ask him. You see most of these people twisting our history didn't have a constituency at that time so everything was done in the big towns and most of them were oblivion of what was going on in Ghana and politics so if now we have a constituency which Akando is representing I don't take such people serious because they came to town before they saw lights most of them were using Bobo in their homes do you know bobo? it was kind of lamp that used kerosene with it base made of a can and some even used rug as the wick for the light. All these people are talking about Osagyefo ask him the last time Osagyefo came to his area to campaign if he ever stepped there. Ask him where he met Nkrumahin his life time? Nkwaseafuo s333 aaaa nso 3keka bi.Osagyefo would have sent all these ndc fo*ls to detention if he were to be the president today, because that party jate Ghana and are very unpatriotic and I don't know what make the ndc think ndc is cpp annex. Those so called Nkrumaists in the ndc are greedy that's why Flt.Lt.Rawlings call them kriminals. Ndc has some UP members who are very decent and reliable such were D.F ANNAN, the late Owusu Acheampong former ndc Agric.minister,A.A Munufie,Kwame Baah all of blessed memory none of them has blemishes on them and this make Rawlings know, that tradition is very consistent there were and are so many of them in the ndc but those so called Nkrumaists have destroyed the ndc with their crook ways. All those so called Nkrumaists who got the chance to lead the ndc did nothing to help that party than crook ways. Their fathers and uncles had no idea about good governance than calling themselves veranda boys and propaganda secretary such were Kojo Sardine and the rest. Nkrumaists are opportunists who go where they think they can manipulate and when that party dies like they did to their party and PNP they try to find another Avenue to manipulate hence took over the ndc and I tell you ndc will not rise again. Their biggest enemies in Ghana is the UP tradition because Osagyefo himself knew they were the best because he was one of them and seperated. Nkrumaist have nothing to offer they even don't know how to implement Osagyefo's ideas that makes them awam not proper Nkrumaists, how can you love someone you take as your mentor but refuse his ideas and how he worked. The followers of Christ were called Christians because they behaved like Christ how can you be Nkrumaist and forget about Ghana and take to stealing and corruption, forget about development and take to inflated contracts. If you follow somebody you walk his walk and talk his talk and that's a very good legacy not fighting about his birthday and founder's day. NPP talk like those who were in the UGCC and the UP and walk like them they were called 'DOMO' meaning democracy and NPP are still practicing that democracy and capitalism their forebears believed in. Ndc who call themselves Nkrumaists are now establishing a school to learn socialism are they serious? and in anyway did Rawlings who found dedicated that party ever said to them he was a cpp or believed in their ideology? Ndc don't know who they are and what they want. Bogus bugabuga party ,It is finished.
Little minds.
Hon. Akando, I think you need to employ someone to give a well researched Lecture on Ghana's history. If you don't have historical facts to back your claims kindly desist from making a mockery of yourself. The history of Ghana is everywhere Ghana. Nkrumah can ever be claimed as the sole founder of Ghana and you guys know. Thank you Mr President for recognizing the works of all our fathers including academic giants like Dr. J. B. Danquah and Businessmen like Paa Grant and all others across the lengths and breadth of the country including our chiefs who fought and stood for the founding of the nation Ghana. 4th August will be celebrated in grand style
