A wreath laying ceremony to commemorate the 103rd anniversary of the birth of Ghana's first President Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah has been held at the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum in Accra.
In a brief address, President Mahama asked Ghanaians to remain proud of Dr.Nkrumah.
He has therefore directed the Minister for the Interior to present a Bill to Parliament to amend the Executive Instrument declaring September 21 Founder's Day to be part of the statutory public holidays in the country.
President Mahama said Dr. Nkrumah invested heavily in human resource development and the country's industrialisation drive. This, he said, will be replicated by the government.
President Mahama laid the first wreath on behalf of the Government and people of Ghana while the Chairperson of the CPP and daughter of late President Nkrumah, Samia Yaaba Nkrumah, also laid one for the family and the CPP.
